Back in January Forever 21 an online clothing retailer was lambasted for posting an ad featuring a picture of a black boy wearing a hoodie that read, “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle.” I thought the outrage was ridiculous at the time considering that the boy and his presumably black parents knew what he was modeling and agreed to do it. But whatever.
Now Forever 21 is under fire again. This time it’s for an even more ridiculous reason. You see, blacks seem to think that the movie “Black Panther” and the fictional country depicted in it, Wakanda, are real. And white people better not have anything to do with it because I guess that’s racial appropriation or something. Check out the indignation because they put a “Wakanda Forever” sweater on a white model.
Forever 21 faces backlash after featuring white model wearing ‘Wakanda Forever’ sweater on its website
Fast-fashion retailer Forever 21 quickly found itself in hot water on Tuesday afternoon when it tweeted a link to a Black Panther-inspired sweater on its site, worn by a white model.
The phrase “Wakanda Forever” comes from the wildly successful Marvel film Black Panther and has evolved into a greeting used among those who identify with the nearly all-black cast of characters.
People discovered the sweater when the brand tweeted it out, which in turn incited a number of unfavorable responses.
The tweet was quickly removed. However, as of Tuesday afternoon, the photos remain on Forever 21’s website.
Screenshots are forever. @Forever21 .
Y'all really put a COLONIZER in a Wakanda shirt. pic.twitter.com/pnM7BY06yI

They got a super pale, blond, blue-eyed model in a Wakanda Forever sweater… 🤣🤣🤣
I wanna speak to your advertising department, @Forever21. Someone approved this and thought this was going to work. 😂 https://t.co/aWefYUeBfY

One Twitter user discovered that this isn’t the only example of a white person wearing Black Panther merchandise on Forever 21’s site. Instead, a white woman is also seen modeling a graphic tee from the movie.
So @Forever21 removed the “Wakanda Forever” tweet, meanwhile on https://t.co/ECJpDYMBv8 they got white people in the official Black Panther merch, and a black guy in the bootleg. I mean….YIKES. pic.twitter.com/hGd2WYca9u

White people can’t be fans of “Black Panther?” Ok. No worries. I never saw it anyway. But all these idiots seemed to be having so much fun being offended that I felt left out. So I went to Forever 21 and sought out something to be outraged about, and they didn’t disappoint!
First we have the Britney Spears t-shirt:
What the hell? Spears is white so a black man has NO BUSINESS wearing that! Further, it’s sexist! On the sleeve it says, “You Better Work, Bitch.” I want that shit taken down!
Then they had the nerve to put a Justin Timberlake on a black man! Followed by an NSYNC shirt when that band is clearly all white! Stop appropriating my culture, dammit!
And now my favorite. The “Scarface” t-shirt worn by a black man!
This is SO wrong in SO many ways. First Al Pacino is white and the movie didn’t feature any black characters so it doesn’t belong on a black man. Second, I’ve heard complaints from liberals that they loathe that movie because Al was in “blackface” when he played the Cuban drug dealer. So why would any self-respecting racially sensitive black man be caught dead in it? And third, the movie portrays immigrants that come to America as criminals! And that’s what Trump says they are and I WANT THIS THIS PICTURE REMOVED! NOW!
My sarcastic rant is now over. I just wanted show you how thin-skinned and ridiculous liberals are. Be outraged if you want to. Just PLEASE make it about something legitimate.
Oh, and Wakanda isn’t real!
