This is a fun story. Tom Brokaw actually stumbled upon something non-stupid by saying that Hispanic immigrants should work harder to assimilate to American culture. He then immediately apologized for saying the one intelligent thing he’s ever said. As icing on the cake, Brokaw was “fact-checked” by a CNN stooge who said that Hispanic immigrants not only assimilate but also speak better English than most Americans. This is your mainstream media, people.
Brokaw was on Meet the Press with “sleepy eyes” Chuck Todd talking about how much they don’t think a border wall would stop illegal immigrants from coming into this country. Brokaw started off the fun with this complete bullshit statement:
“I hear when I push people a little harder, ‘I don’t know if I want brown grand babies,’” said Brokaw.
Really? Who is telling Brokaw that? He put this in the context that it was “Republicans” that are telling him that, so which Republicans are confiding in Tom Brokaw about this? These are all rhetorical questions, because he’s lying his ass off. Nobody, especially a Republican, ever said that to him.
Then in a weird moment of clarity, Brokaw said this:
“I also happen to believe that the Hispanics should work harder at assimilation. That’s one of the things I’ve been saying for a long time. You know, they ought not to be just codified in their communities but make sure that all their kids are learning to speak English, and that they feel comfortable in the communities. And that’s going to take outreach on both sides, frankly,” Brokaw said.
Besides implying that we share responsibility for helping Hispanic immigrants assimilate, Brokaw was actually on to something here. Unfortunately, he’s a chickenshit and immediately after the Meet the Press taping, he jumped on Twitter and begged for forgiveness:

Making this story even dumber, right after Brokaw said that Hispanics should assimilate, CNN “fact-checked” him. Maria Cardona on a CNN broadcast spewed this:
“He’s a little out of touch. I love him and I’ll give him a pass because he’s probably not up to speed as to where things are today and age, especially with young Latinos in this country,” said Cardona or Brokaw.
Now wait for it:
“In fact, most Latino children speak English better than a lot of native-born Americans. As an immigrant from Colombia myself and as somebody who is raising two Latino children, we speak Spanish at home predominantly, but they speak better English than a lot of my English speaking friends. So what he’s saying is just absolutely not true. Latinos absolutely assimilate,” Cardona said.
Show your work, Cardona. Where are these Latino immigrant children who speak English better than native-born Americans? Where are these Latino immigrants who assimilate?
As someone who lives in the Los Angeles area and is surrounded by Latino immigrants, I can say with 100% certainty that they do not assimilate in any way. They don’t speak the language, they don’t understand the customs, and they don’t give a flying f*ck about the laws. Rather than assimilate, they are trying to make this country more like the shitholes they left to come here.
This entire episode perfectly demonstrates the liberal media’s anti-American agenda. First we have Tom Brokaw apologizing for accidentally saying that Hispanic immigrants should learn English and assimilate and then we have CNN claiming that Latino immigrants are better English speakers than native-born Americans.
