Rep. Al Green has tried two times before to impeach Donald Trump on the basis that he is racist. He’s going for a third try only with a twist. The Texas Rep. says Trump must be impeached because the democratic Virginia Governor and Attorney General are racist. Yes, this is a real thing. A democrat is attempting to oust the Republican President because some democrats were exposed as racists.
As you know, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam is embroiled in a controversy because a picture in his medical school yearbook shows a person in blackface standing next to a guy dressed in a KKK hood and robe. Northam has denied that he is either of the people in the picture, but did admit to going in blackface to a Michael Jackson dance contest. Also, Virginia’s Attorney General Mark Herring has confessed to partying in blackface as rapper Kurtis Blow. Both men are democrats and both are refusing to resign.
The Hill reports that Texas Rep. Al Green is using these democratic racism sandals as an excuse to impeach President Trump.
One of President Trump’s sharpest congressional critics on Thursday vowed to force a House vote to impeach the president, citing the race-related scandals facing top Virginia lawmakers to argue Congress’s responsibility to fight bigotry — “starting at the top.”
Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) said the refusal of both Virginia’s governor, Ralph Northam (D), and the state’s attorney general, Mark Herring (D), to resign after admissions of wearing blackface in the past “is but a symptom of a greater syndrome that currently plagues our country as a result of not acting on President Trump’s bigotry.”
Somehow this gets funnier. Green actually blamed the VA democrats’ blackface issues on Trump. He said Northam and Herring’s racism has been emboldened, “to a great extent because the Trump presidency has sent a message that you can be immune to the consequences of bigotry, by daring those with the authority and power to constitutionally remove you from office.”
You got that? Trump’s presidency, which began in January of 2017, is responsible for racist things that Northam and Herring did in the early 1980’s. Green should at least try to prove that Trump owns one of those time-traveling Deloreans like from the film Back to the Future. For a guy who has never demonstrated his sanity, this may be the craziest thing he’s ever said.
This takes a close second:
“We no longer stare bigotry down; bigotry now stares us down. Further, an argument that Governor Ralph Northam and Attorney General Mark Herring should resign will subject us to accusations of political hypocrisy if we refuse to take on a bigoted president,” Green said in a statement.
What Green is saying is that democrats can’t possibly demand that Northam and Herring resign until they impeach Donald Trump first. According to him, democrats would be hypocrites for trying to oust those racist Virginia dems if they don’t first go after the Republican President who retroactively made them racist.
I can’t confirm this but it is rumored that Green, who looks like a Neanderthal, submitted the articles of impeachment in a series of cave paintings. No seriously, doesn’t he look like he should be selling Geico insurance?
This is some next-gen anti-Trump resistance that, if it works out, will let democrats use all of their shiftiness to take down the President. The can say that Trump’s presidency emboldened Dianne Feinstein to employ a Chinese spy for 20 years and bust him on treason. They can blame Trump’s misogyny for making Bill Clinton a serial rapist and get him on sexual assault charges. Hell they can even claim that Trump made Maxine Waters into a whopping moron and 25th Amendment his ass for incompetence.
