I can’t gloat and say I called this, because nobody believed it, but it looks like the hate crime attack reported by Jussie Smollette was a complete hoax. The Empire actor claimed that two white men attacked him, poured bleach on him, and tried to lynch him. Reports coming out now say that he staged this attack with two other people in an effort to keep his character from being written off the show.
In late January Jussie Smollett reported that two white men attack him, using homophobic slurs and pro-Trump slogans. He said these attackers doused him in bleach and wrapped a rope around his neck in an attempt to lynch him. Chicago police poured over surveillance video from the area the attack was reported to have taken place. They couldn’t find any evidence of an actual assault, but did find two people of interest. Today, they located these two people and their identities are curious to say the least.

Wait. What? These two persons of interest are black and have appeared as extras on Empire? The same show that Jussie Smollett is on? And they found bleach, just like Smollett says was poured on him during the attack? What are the f*cking chances of that?
As it turns out, none of this is much of a coincidence. Check this out from ABC7 Chicago:
Chicago police confirmed Thursday that detectives are talking to two persons of interest in connection with the alleged attack on “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett.
Multiple sources have told ABC7 Eyewitness News that police are investigating whether Smollett and the two men staged the attack allegedly because Smollett was being written off of “Empire.”
Smollett has changed his story multiple times and even the original story was difficult to believe. When I wrote about this on January 29, I speculated that he was beaten while trying to score drugs or gay sex and concocted a story that racist homophobic Trump supporters attacked him. I was way off, but at least I got that he was full of shit.
If Smollett and these two Nigerian Empire extras did stage the attack, that means that the actor took a punch to the face just to prove how racist and homophobic this country is. He may not have gotten a broken rib, but he definitely had a shiner so he must have had one of these guys sock him in the face. Sure, it’s messed up that he faked this, but his commitment to the role is to be commended. He is an actor, after all.
Making this hoax even worse, Smollett went on TV today before his story came completely apart and accused anyone who doubted him of racism:
“It feels like if I had said it was a Muslim or a Mexican or someone black I feel like the doubters would have supported me a lot much more. And that says a lot about the place where we are as a country right now,” said Smollett.
Actually, an openly gay black actor faking a hate crime says way more about the place we are as a country than anything else.
Now we have to wonder if the Chicago PD is going to charge Smollett with filing a false report and maybe make him pay for the massive investigation into his lie. Also, will all of the celebrities who condemned Trump and white people for this attack retract their outrage? I’m pretty sure Smollett won’t get in any trouble for this and I know for a fact that the liberal entertainment industry will not be apologizing for their knee-jerk reactions.
