By now you’ve all heard about the mass shooting in Illinois yesterday in Aurora, Illinois in which five people were killed by Gary Martin an ex-employee of the Henry Pratt Company where the shooting occurred. The tragedy there reinforces several facts about gun control that we already knew, obliterates several stereotypes about what kind of people commit these heinous crimes and with what guns, and puts a certain firearm accessory in the crosshairs for potential regulation by anti-gun liberal idiots. Let’s examine what this latest event has taught us.
The Suspect Used a Revolver
The Daily Mail tells us, “Police say Martin used Smith & Wesson revolver to kill five co-workers before he was killed in police shootout.”
Of course this has to be fake news, right? A typo, perhaps? I mean everyone knows that the preferred weapon of any mass shooter is the AR-15. That’s what the media and anti-gun groups have been preaching for years now. “All we have to do is ban the scary black rifle with the “high capacity clip” and other death-dealing attachments like pistol grips and flash hiders, and these mass shootings will stop!”
Gee, I guess this incident kind of blows that theory out of the water. It dramatically illustrates what we have been saying for years. It’s not the gun, it’s the person wielding it. The revolver is one of the few firearms that liberals seem to have little interest in banning. Because of their ignorance of firearms, they believe the humble revolver to be relatively harmless. Yet here it is used in a mass shooting. Proving once again that you can ban all the semi-automatic rifles you want to but murderous thugs will always find another weapon to use.
The Suspect Was Black
Everybody knows that it’s only white men that perpetrate these kinds of crimes. Libs love to point that out as much as they can, also usually trying to portray the criminals as “far right” or “alt-right,” whether it’s true or not. So what the hell happened in Aurora? This creep doesn’t look white to me:
But is that narrative even true?
The Philadelphia Tribune states that “According to a Mother Jones database of U.S. mass shootings since 1982, 54 percent of the 97 mass shootings have been carried out by white men.”
Black men accounted for roughly 16 percent of the total incidents during the same period of time.” Yes, I know it’s Mother Jones and therefore probably not accurate, but let’s just accept their stats for the sake of argument. In fact, I don’t even have to argue this point because later in the same article the Tribune makes my case for me.
“Experts said painting this issue as one of color is problematic because there are far more white men in the United States than any other race, hence the over-representation.”
That just about says it all.
Gun Free Zones Don’t Work
The Henry Pratt Company is a gun free zone. Here’s a photo of their front door:
Maybe Martin didn’t see that sign or maybe he misinterpreted it. It could mean “no semi-automatic pistols,” right? This is just another example of how asinine gun free zones are. Here’s further proof via Breitbart, “Crime Prevention Research Center reported, “This attempted mass public shooting occurred in yet another gun-free zone. 98% of mass public shootings since 1950 have taken place in areas where people can’t defend themselves.”
The Suspect Was Not Allowed to Possess Firearms
The Daily Mail reports that “Pubic records showed Martin had a criminal past, a 1995 conviction for aggravated assault for stabbing a woman in Marshall County, Mississippi.
“Aurora Police Chief Ziman said authorities did not know if he had legally purchased the gun he used, a Smith & Wesson revolver. Convicted felons are barred from buying firearms.”
And the impotence of another gun control law is revealed. Felons are not only barred from buying firearms, but also possessing them. So how in the world did he have a gun?! But it also demonstrates the futility of the universal background bill the House Judiciary committee just advanced. Criminals aren’t going to obey it, you morons.
Laser Sights Should Be Banned
Meanwhile, CNN and other mainstream news outlets are trying to create hysteria over the fact that the revolver Martin was wielding was equipped with a laser sight. In fact that’s the headline CNN used in their main story about this shooting, “Shooter in deadly Illinois rampage had a gun with a laser sight, witness says.” I mean, really? Nothing about five people losing their lives, it’s this green laser site that their concerned about.
“One witness said the gun had a laser sight.”
“He was ‘running down the aisle’ with a pistol that had a green laser sight on it, John Probst said.”
“As soon as I saw the green thing and heard the shots, we left.”
So look for the libs to push for a ban of this frightening instrument of death that is the green laser sight. Sound absurd? Not really. I mean if telescoping stocks, pistol grips, flash hiders, and barrel shrouds define what libs call an “assault rifle,” then a laser sight on a revolver certainly transforms it into . . . I don’t know. A bazooka, maybe? A cruise missile. Something along those lines, I’m sure.
And to sum up, as one astute Instagram user with a very cool handle pointed out at GeorgiaCarry.org’s site,
