Democrats no longer even bother with the truth now that the minds of the public have been conquered.
In a story that shows just how little respect that Democrats have for the intelligence of the American people, freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar is working to explain away her controversial anti-Semitic rhetoric as merely a mistake.
According to the Somali-born congresswoman, she is pleading innocence over tweets that ignited a firestorm when she invoked the trope that can be boiled down to the accusation that Jews are able to control the world due to their money.
Omar’s explosive tweet was in reference to the powerful Israeli American Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) which is an organization that enjoys widespread bipartisan support and which got her in hot water to the point where she had to issue a lame apology.
As one of the stars of the Dems’ new diverse freshman class, Omar is the second to have ended up in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Her fellow insurgent from Michigan, Rep. Rashida Tlaib was the subject of a viral video where she thrilled supporters with a vow to “impeach the motherf*cker” with the MF’er being President Trump.
But her lack of contrition for her clearly anti-Semitic comments has only been amplified as friendly media allies are doing damage control for her including a puff piece in her hometown paper, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that allows her to incredibly plead innocence and to claim that she had no idea that her Jew-hating tweet could have ever been interpreted as being anti-Semitic.

According to The Minneapolis Star-Tribune:
Rep. Ilhan Omar insisted Friday that she is not anti-Semitic, and that she regrets a tweet that was widely condemned for perpetuating Jewish stereotypes because it undermined her own attempts to foster cultural harmony.
“I know what intolerance looks like,” the Minnesota Democrat said in her first interview since she drew public criticism for a tweet that suggested a financial motive behind U.S. political support for Israel. “The thing that has been hurtful about this whole process for me is knowing that I could be someone who could use language that causes hurt to others.”
It’s been a high-profile, stormy first six weeks in Congress for Omar, who made history in January as the first Somali-American member of Congress.
Several other tweets also set off controversy. And even in the days since the latest flap, Omar again drew attention for aggressively questioning Trump administration envoy Elliott Abrams, suggesting he had supported Central American policy that led to genocide. She was among a small number of Democrats who voted against the government funding compromise on Thursday, citing what they called the “hateful policies, priorities, and rhetoric” of Trump’s White House.
But it was a tweet last Sunday she intended to describe why politicians support Israel — “It’s all about the Benjamins baby” — that led to the biggest blowback. “It’s All About the Benjamins” is the title of a 1997 Puff Daddy song that includes a derisive reference to Jews. Critics on the right and left quickly denounced Omar for spreading what many including Speaker Nancy Pelosi called an “anti-Semitic trope.”
Asked Friday if she realized the anti-Semitic connotation, Omar replied: “Absolutely not.” She said she knew she’d misstepped when friends and allies reached out. “I got some calls,” she said.
Yeah, and the dog ate her homework too!
AIPAC also has drawn fire from the radical left because it fiercely defends the state of Israel which serves as an island of civilization and democracy in the Middle East where it is hated by all of its neighbors, many of which are hotbeds of the barbaric savagery of radical Islamic terrorism.
Such sentiment seems to run high in Omar’s district – at least according to no less an authoritative source than the FBI:

Many will find difficult to give Omar the benefit of the doubt given her history of anti-Semitic rhetoric. Then there was her recent smearing of Jewish US special envoy to Venezuela Elliot Abrams before the House Foreign Affairs Committee which earned her kudos from the notorious neo-Nazi David Duke.

Omar also made a call to strip the Department Of Homeland Security of funding for its crucial role in protecting Americans and preventing another 9/11.

Whose side is she really on?
That’s the question that the Democrats should be answering instead of running interference for this extremist whose blatant anti-Semitism is a blight on the U.S. Congress.
