Howard Schultz Declared ‘Enemy Of Democracy’ By Rancid Liberal Website

Fear and loathing has gripped the Democrats as there is no turning back from their extremism.

The Howard Schultz hatefest continues as the anti-Trump left is gripped by a terrible fear that an independent presidential run by the former Starbucks CEO will swing the election to President Trump and strangle the rebirth of socialism in its cradle.

It has been a bizarre turn of events to see how a man like Schultz who had long been praised for his liberalism – leftists couldn’t suck down enough of the chain’s overpriced lattes – was quickly turned on by the hate mob simply because he stood in the way of their quest for power.

Schultz had previously mulled the idea of a White House run and had brought in consultant Steve Schmidt, a veteran of the John McCain campaign which was accepted by the radicalized left until he called out their extremism, criticized their goddess Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and dared to craft an appeal to moderates who are horrified at the direction of the new Democrats.

Ever since he divulged his plans during a segment on CBS’s flagship “60 Minutes” he has been vilified, bullied and denounced as the fanatics look to force him out of the race altogether.

The latest attack on Schultz?

The liberal website Salon has labeled him as the “enemy of democracy” in a blistering screed that not only attacks Schultz but also the hated Electoral College.

The following is excerpted from Salon’s ugly rant “Howard Schultz is an enemy of democracy: He wants to detonate the grenade in the Constitution”:

Like most third-party candidates for president, Schultz seems oblivious to the almost constitutional realities that turn even the most popular of third-party runs into spoilers. What critics like Bloomberg and New York Times columnist Michelle Goldberg have not pointed out is that even if Schultz runs extraordinary well, and gets most of the 40 percent of the vote he counts as “independents,” he will not win the election. Instead, he would likely throw it into the House of Representatives, which must resolve any Electoral College stalemate. In the House, where every state delegation gets one vote, the Republicans would likely re-elect Trump, even if he finished third in the popular vote behind Schultz and a Democrat.

Only Sam Feist, CNN’s Washington bureau chief, Sam Feist, has done the arithmetic. Feist offers this scenario:

Imagine the following hypothetical Electoral College outcome on Election Day 2020: Republican Donald Trump with 130; Independent Howard Schultz with 190; and the Democratic nominee with 218. Despite Trump winning the least number of electoral votes in this scenario, if the makeup of Congress remains the same (Republicans control more state delegations and each state must vote as a block if no candidate gets 270 electoral votes), the winner of the presidency would be Trump.

It’s even worse for Schultz than that. Even if he gets the 40 percent of the vote he claims as his base, and with it 218 electoral votes, Trump wins 164 votes in those states where he is currently above 50 percent and a progressive Democrat wins the remaining 156 votes, then Trump still wins.

AND

One hopes we will soon we will find a way to disarm this grenade, perhaps by implementing the National Popular Vote strategy. But until we do that it is important to understand, as Ralph Nader demonstrated in 2000 (and as Gary Johnson and Jill Stein arguably did in 2016), that third-party candidacies unwittingly empower the darkest forces in our society. Howard Schultz should study history carefully before he makes his choice.

As much as they hate Schultz, the crux of the piece is that the Constitution is no longer seen as valid by Democrats and their minions and particularly the part about the Electoral College which they are desperate to dismantle.

The rallying cry that Hillary won the popular vote and is entitled to the presidency has been taken up by her allies who are largely ignorant, emotion-driven boobs who have never taken a civics class and have no knowledge of history.

While it is true that Clinton did get more votes than Trump (skewed because of a 4 million win in California) the Electoral College is the way that the score is kept and it has been that way since the foundation of the United States.

Pay no mind to the fact that there was no bitching about the Electoral College before Clinton choked away the election and had it gone the other way, hypocritical liberals would now be defending it had Trump won the popular vote.

What has really given the left a lasting case of the red-ass is that their overwhelming control of heavily populated coastal areas like California as well as their dominance in New York doesn’t allow for elections to be decided based on a few big states.

In a nutshell, the Electoral College works EXACTLY as the Founding Fathers designed it to and that is what they really hate – even more than they hate Howard Schultz.

It’s not difficult to see who the real enemies of democracy are.
