Ocasio-Cortez And Her Chief Of Staff ‘Could Be Facing Jail Time’ If Their Control Over PAC Was Intentionally Hidden, Former FEC Commissioner Says

Via The Daily Caller

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti obtained majority control of Justice Democrats PAC in December 2017, according to archived copies of the group’s website, and the two appear to retain their control of the group, according to corporate filings obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation. If the Federal Election Commission (FEC) finds that the New York Democrat’s campaign operated in affiliation with the PAC, which had raised more than $1.8 million before her June 2018 primary, it would open them up to “massive reporting violations, probably at least some illegal contribution violations exceeding the lawful limits,” former FEC commissioner Brad Smith said.

Ocasio-Cortez never disclosed to the FEC that she and Chakrabarti, who served as her campaign chair, controlled the PAC while it was simultaneously supporting her primary campaign, and former FEC commissioners say the arrangement could lead to multiple campaign finance violations. The group backed 12 Democrats during the 2018 midterms, but Ocasio-Cortez was the only one of those to win her general election.

“If the facts as alleged are true, and a candidate had control over a PAC that was working to get that candidate elected, then that candidate is potentially in very big trouble and may have engaged in multiple violations of federal campaign finance law, including receiving excessive contributions,” former Republican FEC commissioner Hans von Spakovsky told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Google Is Still Working on China Search Engine, Employees Claim

Via The Intercept

GOOGLE EMPLOYEES HAVE carried out their own investigation into the company’s plan to launch a censored search engine for China and say they are concerned that development of the project remains ongoing, The Intercept can reveal.

Late last year, bosses moved engineers away from working on the controversial project, known as Dragonfly, and said that there were no current plans to launch it. However, a group of employees at the company was unsatisfied with the lack of information from leadership on the issue — and took matters into their own hands.

The group has identified ongoing work on a batch of code that is associated with the China search engine, according to three Google sources. The development has stoked anger inside Google offices, where many of the company’s 88,000 workforce previously protested against plans to launch the search engine, which was designed to censor broad categories of information associated with human rights, democracy, religion, and peaceful protest.

Dear Black Americans: Forget the Race Issue

Via The American Thinker

I don’t know why, but I am inspired this week to write an epistle to my fellow Americans that are black. I suppose this happened because in the week that a foolish black American actor cooked up a foolish hate crime hoax, I had positive exchanges with black people. One was a black woman who was unimpressed with the brouhaha over KKK hoods and blackface. The other was a guy at the gym who wanted to correct my swing on a weight machine.

It’s amazing, but this man used the Scott Adams technique of persuasion: he reeled off his credentials, that he had been 20 years in the service and was a fitness instructor, rather than suggest that my gym technique was racist.

This is what I want to say to black Americans. Please, my fellow Americans, forget the race issue. I ask you to do this not for me, or for the rest of my fellow deplorable Americans. I ask you to do it for you.

I ask you to do this, because until you do, you will never come into your rightful inheritance as full Americans; you will remain the Little Darlings of the liberal white ruling class, their special pets seething with the resentment they have carefully taught you and voting from year to year 90 percent for Democrats.

Girl Scouts Partner with Abortion Industry, ‘Anal Sex’ Promoter Teen Vogue

Via Breitbart News

Two former participants in Girl Scouts say the organization enjoys a “cozy relationship” with the abortion industry, including Planned Parenthood, and now Teen Vogue, a magazine that promotes “reproductive justice” and has offered a tutorial on anal sex.

Ann Saladin, creator of MyGirlScoutCouncil.com, and co-editor Christy Volanski, have spent nearly a decade documenting Girl Scouts USA’s relationships with the abortion industry, Planned Parenthood, and political leaders who support abortion and a left-wing agenda in general.

“At the very least, it’s a cozy relationship,” Volanski told Breitbart News as she described the ties between the Girl Scouts, the abortion industry and, specifically, Planned Parenthood.

On Friday, MyGirlScoutCouncil posted to Facebook that the Girl Scouts Gold Award – its highest honor – went to a “reproductive health justice” project to “educate people about and destigmatize access to women’s healthcare”:

UCLA student group demands $40 million for black student center

Via Campus Reform

A black student group at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is lobbying the university for a $40 million dollar endowment to establish a black resource center on campus.

UCLA’s Afrikan Student Union, the group that made the demand, also demonstrated at a Thursday basketball game, according to The Daily Bruin. The center would consolidate and bolster existing resources for black students at UCLA.

ASU was modeled after with UCLA’s Black Panther movement, according to ASU’s online description. The group fights for “Afrikan Unity and Black consciousness, the promotion of Afrikan Culture and the elimination of human oppression and exploitation.” Its Black Panther Party legacy is observed by ASU’s additional demand to rename Campbell Hall, a UCLA campus building, Carter-Huggins Hall. This switch would commemorate two Black Panthers who were assassinated on campus in 1969 and who are honored yearly with an ASU-sponsored vigil.

Marcelo Clark, the UCLA student who first publicized ASU’s press release, justified the $40 million endowment and other demands because “it is time for an institution [UCLA] that capitalizes off of our identities to recognize the struggle that accompanies us, and adequately provide for the programs and individuals that keep UCLA’s Black community afloat.”

The student organization’s demands for greater funding and bureaucratic oversight were punctuated by ASU’s demonstrations at a widely attended UCLA versus University of Southern California men’s basketball game. Dressed entirely in black, a cluster of ASU representatives held their fists up while the national anthem was playing and left the game during halftime.
