As Rep. Ilhan Omar continues to rampage like the proverbial bull in a China shop she has turned her scathing rhetoric on none other than former President Barack Obama who she blindsided with a barrage of friendly fire that nobody saw coming.
In the latest installment of the Perils Of Pelosi, Omar – who along with AOC and Rashida Tlaib has become a three-headed monster that is the stuff of leadership nightmares – teed off on Obama by blasting his trademark “hope and change” slogan and destroying the fake narrative that kids weren’t caged at the border during Dear Leader’s tenure.
Following the triumphant planting of the anti-Semitic flag smack dab in the center of the “diverse” party’s big tent, Omar continued to dog walk the woebegone septuagenarian Speaker Of The House when she ripped into Obama in an interview with the bible of Beltway gossip Politico.
She also dared to compare the pope of hope to – GASP – President Donald J. Trump!

Via The Hill, “Omar compares Obama to Trump: Both back bad policies, one is just ‘more polished'”:
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), a progressive firebrand currently the focus of controversy over comments she made about Israel, rebuked former President Obama in a new interview, comparing him to President Trump, only “more polished.”
Omar slammed Obama’s “hope and change” message as more smoke and mirrors than anything concrete, saying, like Trump, his immigration policies involved detaining children at the southern border and he made heavy use of lethal drone strikes overseas.
“We can’t be only upset with Trump. … His policies are bad, but many of the people who came before him also had really bad policies. They just were more polished than he was,” Omar told Politico. “And that’s not what we should be looking for anymore. We don’t want anybody to get away with murder because they are polished. We want to recognize the actual policies that are behind the pretty face and the smile.”
The former president is still widely revered among Democrats, but Omar is one of several deeply liberal freshman lawmakers seeking to bring the party further left.
Here it is, straight from the horse’s mouth…
Despite the cautionary tale offered by years of vicious Republican infighting, Democrats are dangerously close to entering into their own fratricidal conflict https://t.co/idyowydTDA

The following is excerpted from Politico’s piece “The Democrats’ Dilemma”:
As she saw it, the party ostensibly committed to progressive values had become complicit in perpetuating the status quo. Omar says the “hope and change” offered by Barack Obama was a mirage. Recalling the “caging of kids” at the U.S.-Mexico border and the “droning of countries around the world” on Obama’s watch, she argues that the Democratic president operated within the same fundamentally broken framework as his Republican successor.
“We can’t be only upset with Trump. … His policies are bad, but many of the people who came before him also had really bad policies. They just were more polished than he was,” Omar says. “And that’s not what we should be looking for anymore. We don’t want anybody to get away with murder because they are polished. We want to recognize the actual policies that are behind the pretty face and the smile.”
AND
“As much as other people are uncomfortable, I’m excited about the change in tone that has taken place that is extremely positive. The insightful conversations that we’re having about money and its influence in Washington. And my ability, I think, to agitate our foreign policy discussions in a way that many of my colleagues who have been anti-intervention, anti-war have been unable to do in the past,” she says. “So, I’m OK with taking the blows if it means it will ignite conversations that no one was willing to have before.”
It may be that the Minnesota maniac is slowly starting to realize that she is beginning to become more trouble than she’s worth because once the news of her unflattering comments toward the nation’s first black POTUS broke, she was scrambling to convince her gullible Twitter followers that the media was out to get her and was distorting her words.
She has since deleted the tweet after it confirmed exactly what the story said.
While her growing fan club of extremists, anti-Semites and socialists will be quick to scream “racism” and “conspiracy” it is important to understand the context of the Politico story which in a larger context, looks at the battle for the soul of the Democratic party by drawing comparisons between Omar’s congressional district and that of the moderate freshman Rep. Dean Phillips who is more representative of the type that the party will have to reach out to in order to appeal to swing voters.
One very important point to make is that Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib, and Omar ALL hail from districts that are comprised by voters that are completely out of the mainstream and in Omar’s case, the FBI has identified as the “terrorist recruitment capital of the US” and even a senile Pelosi may not be inclined to tolerate such intransigence despite her increasingly tenuous grip on power.
If the Democrats are to have any chance at retaking the White House next year, it’s not wise to piss off Obama who still possesses an enormous amount of political clout as well as national name recognition and if Omar continues on this rogue course, she may yet rue the day that she was elected.
Pelosi may be an old dog but she still has teeth.
