If authorities in California had simply honored an ICE detainer on an illegal immigrant, a woman would not have been brutally murdered. In fact, California had 6 chances to do the right thing and turn a violent gang member over to ICE for deportation, but they are more interested in protecting illegals than US citizens. Once again, sanctuary policies have a body count and liberals couldn’t care less.
Fox News reports that 24-year-old Carlos Eduardo Arevalo Carranza is an illegal immigrant who was arrested at the border in 2013 and promptly deported. Because our border is a sieve, he quickly reentered the US and went on a violent crime spree. In 2015 he was arrested and convicted on drugs and burglary charges in San Jose, CA. ICE requested a detainer on him, but that was ignored and he was released after serving his time.
In 2016, Carranza was arrested for assaulting a police officer and criminal trespass. Once again a detainer was ignored and he was released. Later that same year he was arrested in Los Angeles for battery, but you know LA doesn’t turn illegals over to ICE so he walked out of jail with no problem. All told, Carranza was arrested 6 times in California and 6 times ICE requested a detainer and 6 times those requests were denied. The most recent arrest came in January of this year, giving authorities one last chance to get this f*cker out of the country.
Thanks to the sanctuary policies of California and various cities that won’t allow cops to turn violent illegal immigrant criminals over to federal immigration authorities, Carranza was walking the streets of San Jose on February 27. Well, he wasn’t so much walking as stalking. He followed 59-year-old Bambi Larson home and stabbed her to death. Her body was found the next day with multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma. This was a very violent and grisly murder.
Police found some surveillance video that pointed them to Carranza and he was arrested on March 10. Here’s where the story gets even more amazing, the cops let him go. They took a DNA sample from Carranza but the results didn’t come in yet so they released him. Let that sink in for a movement: cops suspected Carranza in the brutal murder of a woman, he is a known gang member with a long history of violent arrests and convictions, and he is a previously deported illegal immigrant and yet the San Jose police let this asshole walk.
The next day, on March 11, the DNA results came back and linked Carranza to the murder scene so cops tracked him down and arrested him again. Luckily Carranza is a complete dumbshit and didn’t flee, plus for some reason he had a few of the murder victim’s items in his possession. Adding more to the insanity of this, Carranza was on probation at the time of his arrest. Cops didn’t even have to turn him over to ICE to get him off the streets, they could have got him on violating his probation and he would have been in jail instead of killing.
They really really don’t want to hold illegal immigrants accountable to law in California. This statement from San Jose Police Chief Eddie Garcia sums things up perfectly:
“We are here to protect and embrace our otherwise law-abiding, undocumented residents, We are not here nor should we be here to shield admitted gangsters or violent criminals regardless of immigration status,” said Garcia in a press conference.
And yet, the San Jose police, as well as other California law enforcement agencies, bent over backwards to make sure Carranza was free to carry out this brutal murder of a US citizen.
California’s sanctuary status was directly responsible for the murder of police officer Ronil Singh at the hands of an illegal immigrant who should have been deported. Now those sanctuary policies have claimed the life Bambi Larson. How many Americans have to die before this experiment in stupidity is too much for the liberal morons who run the state?
