A 24-year-old guy with no mob ties was arrested for taking out the head of the Gambino crime family last week, which is already weird enough. Now we learn this killer also once tried to execute a citizen’s arrest on NYC mayor Bill de Blasio. Stay with me on this: the guy took out the Penguin and tried to bring down the Joker in Gotham? This dude is freakin’ Batman.
Last Wednesday Anthony Comello staged an accident in which he purposely hit a Cadillac SUV parked in front of Francesco “Frank Boy” Cali’s NYC home. Cali was the reputed boss of the Gambino crime family, once run by John Gotti. Comello’s plan was to get Cali to come out and inspect the damage to his vehicle and it worked.
Surveillance video shows Comello and Cali talking and at one point the two men even shook hands. When Cali bent down to pick a license plate that had fallen, Comello pulled out a gun and fired 10-12 shots, killing the mob boss.
It sure looks like a mob hit, but Comello isn’t part of organized crime. He was arrested Saturday for the murder and so far the only motive authorities are playing with is that Cali may have forbid his niece from dating Comello. Or, Comello could be a real-life superhero.
Fox News reports that earlier this year Comello went after the corrupt mayor of Gotham:
…just a few months ago, Comello wasn’t being accused of shooting alleged bad guys, instead, he was trying to arrest the top authority in New York City — Mayor de Blasio.
Comello showed up outside city halls to protest the de Blasio’s reign and tried to make a citizen’s arrest of him…
He was probably trying to take down de Blasio for killing the Groundhog. Wait, is the Groundhog a character in the DC universe? If not, he should be but in any case, Comello is clearly Batman and de Blasio did kill a groundhog.
And there’s more proof of his superhero status:
During a court appearance on Monday, the suspect wrote a string of slogans on his hand, including “MAGA Forever,” an abbreviation of President Trump’s campaign slogan “Make America Great Again.” He also had “United We Stand MAGA” written on his hand.

Plus, the police who answer to the corrupt mayor are making not-so-veiled threats against Comello’s life, just like in a Batman comic/movie/show:
“He’s going to have some issues in jail. Maybe there’s some guys who are wiseguys in jail who will show their allegiance to the Gambinos and say, ‘We’ll take care of this guy,’” said a high-ranking NYPD official of Comello.
Officials haven’t said the Gambino crime family has posted a bounty on Comello, but “the general feeling is that there’s an ‘X’ on this guy’s back,” one source [said].
This is definitely true, but how messed up is it for the cops to publicly state that Comello is going to get rubbed out in prison?
Comello shares many similarities to the Caped Crusader/Dark Knight. The only difference here is that Comello actually killed someone and Batman never takes a life. Also, Comello said he was really high when he whacked Cali and I don’t think Batman smokes weed.
