THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY!
Why Joe May Be Courting Staceyhttps://t.co/gldHMXbC8V What do these numbers tell us? They identify a fault line that runs through the Democrat Party, separating leftists who believe in equality of results for all races and ethnic groups, and those who believe in a meritocracy. pic.twitter.com/izbooY9rYS

Why Joe May Be Courting Stacey
By Patrick J. Buchanan
Biden knows that just as Bernie Sanders, another white male, fell short in crucial South Carolina because of a lack of support among black voters, he, too, has a problem with that most loyal element in the Democratic coalition.
In 1991, Biden failed to rise to the defense of Anita Hill when she charged future Justice Clarence Thomas with sexual harassment. In the Senate Judiciary Committee, he was a law-and-order champion responsible for tough anti-crime legislation that is now regarded as discriminatory.
And he has a record on busing for racial balance that made him a de facto ally of Louise Day Hicks of the Boston busing case fame.
How, with a record like this, does Biden inoculate himself against attacks by rival candidates, especially candidates of color, in his run for the nomination?
One way would be to signal to his party that he has grown, he has changed, and his 2020 running mate will be a person of color. Perhaps he’ll run with a woman of color such as Stacey Abrams, who narrowly lost the 2018 governor’s race in Georgia.
An ancillary benefit would be that Abrams on the ticket would help him carry Georgia, a state Donald Trump probably cannot lose and win re-election.

‘Damn socialism, why are you chasing me?’ Chinese-Americans see ghost of communism in Democrats’ leftward turn https://t.co/2Mq2dRUghd

‘Damn socialism, why are you chasing me?’ Chinese-Americans see ghost of communism in Democrats’ leftward turn

When Saga Zhou first moved to the United States from China in 2009, she steered clear of politics. The Communist Party rules supreme in China, so most Chinese immigrants bring a built-in aversion to political involvement.
But Zhou’s interest in politics was piqued as she began to see the American Left embracing policies that reminded her of those she’d fled in China.
One such policy was the Left’s support for late-term abortion. When she lived in China, Zhou, like many young Chinese, didn’t consider abortion to be a big deal. But her view changed after moving to America, getting married, and bearing two children.
“After I became a mother, my understanding about life fundamentally changed,” she told me when we met at a Panera Bread in Irvine. “Now I am totally a mother.”
Zhou said her heart broke upon learning about a Virginia bill to loosen restrictions on late-term abortions. Appearing on a radio show as the bill was being debated, Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam pledged to sign the legislation, even suggesting it would sanction infanticide.
“Oh, when I saw the news, I cannot even open [the article],” Zhou said through tears. “It was really hard. I just felt something really strong into my chest. And then I said, ‘Let me adopt him, don’t kill him.’”
The proposed law hit especially close to home for Zhou, whose mother became pregnant with her just as China’s government began implementing its brutal one-child policy.

France To Deploy Military Against Next Round Of Yellow Vest Protests

If the black smoke over the Paris skyline and charred cars and buildings along the Champs-Elysees which have become characteristic of France’s increasingly violent Yellow Vest protests over the past months weren’t alarming enough, things look to get much worse as the government prepares to escalate.
In an effort to clamp down on the unraveling security situation, which has lately seen banks and residential buildings torched, and luxury stores and restaurants vandalized and destroyed, the French authorities have announced the deployment of anti-terrorism military forces in order to protect and secure public buildings.
Following the worsening protest situation of the past weekend (after a brief lull at the end of President Macron’s failed ‘great debate’ initiative which pushed town halls to air grievances), which nearly turned deadly for random civilians caught in the mayhem of rioters clashing with police, the government will redirect counter-terror troops from Opération Sentinelle to focus on Yellow Vest related threats.
Opération Sentinelle began after the January 2015 Île-de-France attacks (the series of al-Qaeda linked terrorist acts that began with the Charlie Hebdo shooting) and resulted in some 10,000 soldiers and 4,700 police and gendarmes deployed at sensitive sites and public buildings across the country.
According to Bloomberg, French authorities have sought to calm the obvious and immediate fears raised that the move constitutes the government taking a full martial law approach of sending the military against its own people.

Our Queer Decline

Just days after Nikki Joly established her city’s first gay community center, she set fire to her home, reducing her three cats and two dogs to burnt offerings to the god of progress. It took investigators a little work, but they determined in time that Joly, an LGBTQ rights activist, would be adding arson to her repertoire.
Apart from the community center, Joly had organized the first gay festival in the otherwise conservative town of Jackson, Michigan. She had spent the past two decades pushing to bring LGBTQ rights to Jackson; finally succeeding in 2017, with the passage of a “nondiscrimination law” which, in effect, institutionalized discrimination against the heteronormative.
Joly had won, and yet, according to friends, she was frustrated that the passage of the law was not met with vocal protests by the conservative people of Jackson. Joly was, friends say, disappointed that the residents of Jackson weren’t more upset about having their way of life and traditional values plowed under. Itching for a fight, Joly was also irritated that the gay pride parade and festival she suffered Jackson to endure was not met with sufficient controversy to provoke the attention she wanted.
So, Joly did what any good social revolutionary would do to fan the flames of discontent: she orchestrated a hoax.
