EAT IT SNOWFLAKES! California City To Keep American Flags On Police Cars

The degree to which the political left has come to hate the police in the country is staggering and may God help our law enforcement professionals who risk their lives on a daily basis in such bastions of anti-Americanism as Laguna Beach, CA.

It’s not hard to pinpoint the exact time that the socialist swine declared war on the police.

That would be roughly around the same period that the Obama administration and AG Eric Holder began to use their high visibility positions to attack the cops and their positions were amplified by a group that some have gone so far as to call a domestic terrorist entity – Black Lives Matter.

Thanks to BLM and then the events in Ferguson, MO in 2014 when a hulking teen thug who tried to attack a police officer and was put down like the mad dog that he was, the city as set ablaze, rioters filled the streets and Democrats exploited it all for maximum political effect.

Years later following Obama’s departure from the White House after the election of President Donald J. Trump, the hatred of the left transferred from just law enforcement personnel to the American flag itself and when that flag was featured on the California city’s police cars, the far-left activists totally lost their shit.

Via The Los Angeles Times:

A decision to affix an American flag graphic to the side of freshly painted Laguna Beach police cars is dividing residents, who are alternately praising the image as patriotic or panning it as too aggressive.

After hearing the criticism and acknowledging that the image they approved didn’t quite match the final results, officials agreed to reconsider their February decision to paint the Laguna Beach Police Department’s fleet of 11 squad cars. The City Council will take up the issue again at its Tuesday meeting.

“People are screaming that the American flag on a police car is somehow or another … hurting people’s feelings who might be immigrants or visitors,” said Councilman Peter Blake. “People are actually ridiculous enough to bring up comments about our cop cars having American flags on them.”

Artist Carrie Woodburn went to the podium at the March 19 council meeting and said it was “shocking to see the boldness of the design” when the newly painted Ford Explorers rolled out.

“We have such an amazing community of artists here, and I thought the aesthetic didn’t really represent our community,” Woodburn said. “It feels very aggressive.”

But the cop haters were defeated when the City Council voted to keep the design when the issue was taken up at the meeting.

The LA Times reports, “American flag design will stay on police cars in Laguna Beach”:

The Laguna Beach City Council voted Tuesday night to keep an American flag design on city police cars.

The vote came after days of national debate about the design for the police vehicles, one that some local officials believed got out of hand.

At least 200 people packed the council chambers, where police officers guarded the doors. Many in attendance wore combinations of red, white and blue. Some donned veterans’ or American Legion hats. A couple wore “Make America Great Again” caps.

One woman burst into the national anthem, and most of the crowd joined her in song. Several people recited poems.

“This became about the flag, but before that it was not about the flag. It was about what our Police Department wanted, what they thought they could best serve the community with,” Mayor Bob Whalen said.

A few speakers had qualms about the design, which couples the cars’ new black-and-white color scheme with the U.S. flag graphic.

Longtime Laguna Beach resident Patrick Cannon said that when he sees the new logo on police cars, he sees “Immigration and Customs Enforcement” because the red and white of the flag runs through the capital letters “ice” in “police.”

“We’re rainbow-sandal-wearing, avocado-eating … surfers and artists, and inclusion is part of our town,” Cannon said. “We do not include our Hispanic community by putting ‘ICE’ on our police cars.”

So chalk up a win for the good guys but it is one small battle in a much larger war for the fate of America.
