Nobody is watching CNN for the news any more, so they appear to be moving into the snuff film territory to attract viewers. A CNN reporter stomped a lizard on live TV, which would be a national crisis if it happened on Fox News. Perhaps the fake news network thinks if people like seeing animal cruelty with a lizard being stomped to death, they will move into taking out actual human beings. Instead of firing their journalists who accidentally push the truth, they can run them over with a steamroller. Hey, the Trump collusion thing fell apart and they are desperate for ratings.

CNN White House correspondent Abby Phillip was outside Mar-a-Lago trying to make up some stuff about Trump and the Mueller report when she suddenly had what looked like a spazz attack. Eventually she looked like she was stomping her feet on something out of frame.
“Hold on Abby, what was that?” Chris Cuomo asked.
“That was a lizard climbing on me,” Phillip replied.
“A komodo dragon?” Cuomo asked, because he’s an idiot.
“Sorry, that just happened on live television,” Phillip said.
“Abby, did you just stomp out a lizard on live television? Is that lizard OK?” Cuomo asked.
“I don’t think it’s OK, but I’m fine,” said Phillip. “At least it wasn’t an alligator.”
As long as Phillip is okay, right? Also, I disagree that it was good fortune that it wasn’t an alligator. If Abby Phillip was ripped to shreds by an alligator on live TV it would have been the first watchable thing on the network ever. Jeff Zucker’s eyes would have lit up as he saw one of his network’s shitty shows finally draw an audience.
While everyone at CNN thought it was pretty funny that one of their reporters killed a lizard, people on social media weren’t nearly as amused. Luckily, CNN is quite good at bullshit and spin, so CNN political reporter Betsy Klein jumped in with a cover story:

Prove it. Pictures or it didn’t happen. If Klein was there, how come she didn’t snap a shot of the lizard happily scurrying away? Phillip herself said that the lizard was not OK, so obviously Klein is lying.
Where’s the outrage from PETA over this The faux animal rights group is against people fumigating their houses to get rid of cockroach infestations, but they’re fine with a CNN reporter stomping a lizard to death? I guess it would be different if Tucker Carlson stepped on an ant or if Sean Hannity swatted a fly. Then, thanks to the liberal double-standard, we’d have a major PETA shit-fit.
I feel like there’s a metaphor here. The lizard represents the truth and was climbing up Phillip’s leg to get on TV. CNN then stomped the truth to death before the American public got a chance to see it and went into spin mode to explain why they were caught redhanded silencing the truth.
