As a million-year-old socialist polar bear eating ice cream in a snowstorm, Bernie Sanders is the whitest democrat in a very white 2020 democratic field. In the past he has struggled to relate to black people so he’s been advocating slave reparations and justice reform to pander but that doesn’t appear to be enough. At a recent black thing, the crowd started yelling at Bernie when he gave a BS answer to what he intends to give black people if he’s elected.
There was something called the “She the People” forum that I assume is a black women empowerment thing. Many of the 2020 dems lined up to kiss some empowered black female ass and when it was Bernie’s turn things didn’t go well. The relevant portion of this video starts at the 2:22:30 mark.
“In order to consolidate the nomination, you have to win over Hillary Clinton voters. What are you doing to try to win over those voters, which includes a substantial share of the women of color, of the black women who voted in 2016?” asked moderator Joy Reid.
Yeah, Joy Reid. (rolls eyes)
“Good question, let me answer it in a couple of ways,” Sanders said, but of course he didn’t answer the question in any way. He talked about defeating “the most dangerous president in the modern history of this country” and said the democrats have to be united, which is weird coming from a guy who isn’t really a democrat.
“I will do everything that I can to make sure that that Democratic candidate becomes the next president of the United States. This is no time for petty divisiveness, this is a time to stand together in the fight, not only to defeat Trump and his racism and his sexism and his homophobia, this is a time for the American people to come together in the fight for economic justice, social justice, racial justice, and environmental justice, and that is what this campaign is about,” said Sanders.
Joy Reid wasn’t having it with Bernie’s non-answer.
“Yeah? And for black women specifically?” Reid demanded.
Sanders didn’t quite get it, so Reid repeated, “For black women specifically.”
At that point the angry black women in the audience started booing and yelling at Bernie.
“Black women will be an integral part of what our campaign, and what are administration is about. Okay?” Sanders said tersely over the shouting crowd.
Sanders tried to say something else, but the crowd was letting him have it and he just stopped talking. The other moderator asked Sanders if he was done with his answer and he said he was. The moderators quickly moved on to avoid any further embarrassment for poor old white Bernie.
From there, things didn’t get much better. A pre-selected audience member asked what Bernie would do as president to stop white supremacist terrorism and he answered that he would stop Trump’s demagoguery, pass comprehensive immigration reform, and impose socialism on the American people.
Clearly in his advanced age, Bernie wasn’t hearing or understanding any of the questions posed of him and just spewing out rehearsed generalisms. Whatever he got asked, the answer was that he was going to make sure the system works for everyone and that’s the last thing black people want to hear. This is kind of like saying “all lives matter.” Black people want to know what you’re going to do for them.
Take a look at Hillary Clinton. She put on a fake black accent and lied that she carries hot sauce in her purse and she captured most of the black female voters in 2016. Bernie should have said that he’s going to take white people’s money away and give it to blacks. He should have promised to pass a law that forbids white people, besides him, of holding elected office. If he really wants the black vote, he should have promised to deport all white people to Honkyvania.
Bernie Sanders appeals to young stupid people because he promises to give them “free” shit that he can never possibly deliver on. This shows how uncomfortable he is with black folks, because he can’t even lie and say that he’ll give them “free” shit too.
