National Public Radio is subsidized by our tax dollars, which makes this horrible story even worse. The NPR is fully admitting that they euphemize abortion to make it seem less terrible. This entity that we pay for is totally on the side of pro-abortionists, propagandizing the women’s health issue while down playing the baby killing aspect of abortion.
A “style sheet” is basically a set of instructions for a media outlet to the writers and reporters on how to cover certain issues. NPR released their style sheet on how its reporters are to cover abortion and its mortifying. Check some of this shit out:
Use the term intact dilation and extraction to describe the procedure, or a procedure known medically as intact dilation and extraction; opponents call it partial-birth abortion. On the latter, it is necessary to point out that the term partial-birth is used by those opposed to the procedure; simply using the phrase so-called partial birth abortion is not sufficient without explaining who’s calling it that. Partial-birth is not a medical term and has no exact parallel in medical terminology; intact dilation and extraction is the closest description.
The procedure they are describing is a baby being pulled outside if the mother’s womb and then killed, which I think we can all agree is f*cked up. NPR’s position is that even though “intact dilation and extraction” is not the correct medical term for this, it’s better than “partial birth abortion” which is the exact descrpition of what takes place.
Oddly enough, this NPR style sheet gets worse:
The term “unborn” implies that there is a baby inside a pregnant woman, not a fetus. Babies are not babies until they are born. They’re fetuses. Incorrectly calling a fetus a “baby” or “the unborn” is part of the strategy used by antiabortion groups to shift language/legality/public opinion.
Again, this is not based on science or proper medical terminology. Obstetricians refer to that life growing in mother’s bellies as “babies” all the time. I know this first hand because that’s what our doctor referred to our son inside my wife’s belly during her entire pregnancy. She said it when we got the ultrasound and she said it during every checkup before he was born.
NPR doesn’t use the term “abortion clinics.” We say instead, “medical or health clinics that perform abortions.” The point is to not to use abortion before the word clinic. The clinics perform other procedures and not just abortions.
Clinics that perform abortions would not exist as clinics if they didn’t perform abortions. I call McDonald’s a burger joint because if they didn’t sell burgers, they wouldn’t exist. I call Dunkin Doughnuts a doughnut place because if they didn’t sell doughnuts they wouldn’t be in business. Planned Parenthood is an abortion clinic, because most of what they do is abortions.
And just in case you happen to be one of those people who thinks it’s wrong to kill an unborn baby…
Do not use “pro-life”
NPR doesn’t say what their writers should use instead of “pro-life” but presumably it’s something horrible like “women’s health denier” or “anti-women’s rights supporter.”
Clearly NPR is trying to take something shitty like baby killing and make it sound less f*cked up with euphemizims. Pedophilia sounds better if you call it “youth outreach” and murder isn’t so bad if you call it “involuntary life removal.” Hey, I’m awesome at this. Democrats should give me a job to help sell their bullshit to the American people.
This is quite revealing in exposing what a terrible thing abortion is. If it wasn’t an abomination, liberals wouldn’t have to sugar-coat it and just say what it is.
