Harriet Tubman Won’t Be On The $20 Bill After All – At Least For Now

In an announcement that is already triggering the identity-obsessed left, the overhaul of the nation’s currency to put the iconic black historical figure Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill isn’t going to happen.

The rollout of the Tubman Twenty had been a part of former President Barack Obama’s legacy to expunge white figures from history but ran into stiff headwinds after Dear Leader left office when the incoming Trump administration indefinitely delayed the change because let’s face it – the money was perfectly ok as it was and such changes just for the sake of doing it was a big-ass waste of money.

Back in 2016 when Obama made the call, it was a transparent sop to black voters in an election year and a sign of the raw cynicism of a Democratic party that has become increasingly racist towards white people.

Tubman is a famed abolitionist who worked to rescue slaves during the Civil War era and honoring her in this way is the culmination of an Obama effort to make the currency more diverse by putting a woman on the double sawbuck. It is also a move that at the time was seen as a political winner with liberals although it failed to impress black voters enough to turn out that year to put Hillary Clinton into the White House.

On Wednesday, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin made it official that SJW’s shouldn’t hold their breath waiting for the first Tubman bills to roll off of the printing presses.

Via CNBC, “Harriet Tubman $20 bill no longer coming in 2020: Mnuchin says redesign postponed”:

The redesign of the $20 bill featuring Harriet Tubman will no longer be unveiled in 2020, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Wednesday.

The unveiling had been timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. Mnuchin said the design process has been delayed and no new imagery will be unveiled until 2028.

“The primary reason we have looked at redesigning the currency is for counterfeiting issues,” Mnuchin said in response to questions by Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., during a hearing before the House Financial Services Committee. “Based upon this, the $20 bill will now not come out until 2028. The $10 bill and the $50 bill will come out with new features beforehand.”

Note that Mnuchin didn’t scrub the idea completely but rather delayed it until 2028 which will be the year that the second term of the Mike Pence presidency takes effect.

And of course the assholes without lives in the social media crackhouse of Twitter immediately cried racism:
