Commie Bastard de Blasio At Subzero In Polls, Begs For Fox Debate

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s gargantuan ego may soon be taken down a few pegs because, despite his high profile as the overlord of the nation’s largest city, he just isn’t well liked outside of his own city.

As one of the last entrants to jam himself into the Democrat clown car, Hizzonor may soon find himself as among the first left standing by the roadside while the rest of the field speeds away toward the edge of a cliff.

Not only are de Blasio and his socialist policies like “Meatless Mondays” in schools a mockery but he is either unknown or despised by the career politicians who have already staked out their own claim to the 2020 presidential nomination.

The field already has Mayor Pete, the rising star young gay mayor of South Bend, IN and has little use for de Blasio who according to a recent FiveThirtyEight poll, he is currently the only candidate who is polling below zero and even worse; below no-hoper Eric Swalwell who is the current poster boy for futility.

How bad are things for de Blasio?

At a time when the top tier of Democrats are refusing to appear on Fox News for debates, the big cheese of the Big Apple is practically on his hands and knees begging Fox to extend an invite to him despite having trashed the network for “spreading hate” last year.

Via The Washington Free Beacon, “De Blasio Asks Fox News to do Town Hall After Previously Saying It Spreads ‘Overt Hate’”:

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has approached Fox News about doing a town hall on the top-rated cable news network, despite previously eviscerating it as racially and politically divisive.

The New York Times reported on the 2020 Democratic candidate’s desire to appear on Fox, which a spokeswoman chalked up to a desire to reach as many voters as possible. His honor is a current non-factor in the polls and still has work to do to reach the first primary debate stage later this month.

“We want to talk to all voters about why the mayor is the best candidate for working people–regardless of what news channel they watch,” de Blasio spokeswoman Olivia Lapeyrolerie said.

De Blasio has been famously hostile to Rupert Murdoch’s media entities, chief among them Fox News and the New York Post. He said last year that Murdoch’s News Corp was responsible for the political rise of President Donald Trump and blamed it for dividing the country.

Talk about desperation.

Here’s what de Blasio’s hometown paper, the New York Post has to say about it, “When de Blasio pins his hopes on Fox News, you know he’s desperate”:

It seems Mayor Bill de Blasio has decided to dine with the devil: His campaign is lobbying to do a town hall on . . . Fox News.

“We want to talk to all voters about why the mayor is the best candidate for working people — regardless of what news channel they watch,” de Blasio campaign spokeswoman Olivia Lapeyrolerie told The Post.

Explaining the weak start of his presidential run, he whined that “Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post has been attacking me.”

But desperate times call for desperate measures. De Blasio is mired down in the polling-under-1-percent tier. Worse news was flagged in the headline of a chart on Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight site: “Democrats like candidates they know . . . except de Blasio.”

That is, he has a net negative approval rating among Dems who know who he is. Ouch.

So it’s Hail Mary time, with a bid for Fox. What’s next, a play for a Post endorsement?

It’s hard to see Fox giving him a forum – let alone responding – considering his hostility to the network and the mayor’s atrocious poll numbers and the only question remains is when does he pull the plug on his candidacy.
