Body Cam Theater! Today’s Episode: “Thin Blue Line, Thin Red Line”

I suppose this is what you get when you try to help a feral criminal. A junkie who had overdosed on opioids while riding a bus was revived by first responders who administered Narcan to him. It’s their job, I know. But they would have been better off leaving him to die because after being revived, how did this piece of shit thank them? By wounding a police officer and killing a firefighter who was only there to try to save his worthless ass.

Post Crescent reports

APPLETON — Body cam footage was released Thursday from the deadly shootout in May 15 in downtown Appleton.

The footage contains images and language that some might find disturbing.

The language doesn’t disturb us nor does the dead thug disturb us. What’s disturbing is that a firefighter died and that this piece of crap animal couldn’t have been revived and killed several more times, only more slowly and painfully.

First responders were called to the Valley Transit Center because 47-year-old Ruben Houston was unconscious on a bus that was traveling from Milwaukee to Wausau and had stopped in Appleton.

Big ugly slab of worm food.

Houston had been treated with Narcan, a drug used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. He was taken off the bus and responding officers tried to get him to go to the hospital for medical treatment.

This is when the video begins.

Houston refused requests to be patted down and, when officers asked him what was on the right side of his hip, Houston pulled out a gun and began shooting. The officers immediately returned fire.

Appleton firefighter Mitch Lundgaard, 36, was shot in the upper back by Houston. Lundgaard later died at a hospital.

Houston was shot by the officers and later died at a hospital.

Appleton police officer Paul Christensen was wounded by one of Houston’s shots, but continued to respond to the situation before he was taken to the hospital. He has since been released.

A bystander was used by Houston as a human shield after officers returned fire at Houston.

A total of 24 shots were fired during the incident.

On Thursday, Outagamie County District Attorney Melinda Tempelis found that the officers’ use of deadly force was justified.

What makes this episode even more tragic is that Houston shouldn’t even have been out on the streets in the first place. You see, he had been an inmate in the local county jail before being released on bond. A bond much lower than he had original been given. ABC2 states that, “He was facing up to 15 years behind bars on a felony drug possession charge.

“There was a traffic stop for, I think, it was a registration violation and found a little over two grams of substance that was an inconclusive test for heroin but was believed to be counterfeit substance of that, and [Houston] was charged with a counterfeit substance felony,” said [District Attorney Eric] Toney.

A receipt obtained by Action 2 News shows a bond payment of $500, which was significantly less, than the $5,000 bond set by a judge during Houston’s initial court appearance April 24 at the request of the district attorney’s office.”

So pansy-ass (probably liberal) Judge Gary Sharpe took pity on this turd and basically set him free. Because, I mean who CAN’T pay a $500 bond?

Judge Gary Sharpe: An accessory to murder.

Yes, hang your head in shame, jackass. This firefighter’s blood is on your hands.
