As crappy as Barack Obama and Bill Clinton were sometimes we forget how truly awful of a president Jimmy Carter was. Thankfully every now and then he pops his head up out of his peanut farm and reminds us. This time he’s claiming that Russia stole the 2016 election for Trump and that he is an illegitimate President. My guess is he’s been taking a nap for the past couple of months and nobody told him about the Mueller report. Either that or the dementia is now in complete control.

Jimmy Carter was speaking at a Carter Center conference (I wonder how he got that gig) in Virginia. The topic of this thing nobody gave a shit about was human rights so naturally Carter felt the need to attack President Trump.
“I think the interference, though not yet quantified, should be fully investigated and would show that Trump didn’t actually win the election in 2016, he lost the election. He was put into office because the Russians interfered on his behalf,” said Carter.
Does Carter mean that 2016 presidential election that is the most investigated thing in the history of investigations? How much more could that election be investigated? The democrats, the deep state intelligence goons, never-Trumpers, the liberal media, and Robert Mueller have gone over everything with a fine-toothed comb and came up with nothing. The best they can say is that Russians placed ambiguous non-candidate-specific ads on social media. Oooh take that, democracy.
Carter was then asked if he meant that Donald Trump is an illegitimate president.
“Based on what I said, which I can’t retract,” Carter said.
That would be a “yes.” As you know democrats are incapable of giving direct answers, but clearly Carter feels Trump is illegitimate.
Here’s a way to look at this that even a senile shitty ex-president can understand: with all of the factions that have been doing nothing but trying to topple Trump for the past two and half years, if there was any evidence, no matter how small that indicated that the Russians actually helped get Trump elected it would have been found by now. And yet Jimmy Carter thinks there needs to be more investigations that he is sure will prove Trump didn’t really win in 2016.
Not only isn’t there any evidence that the Russians altered the outcome of the election, there is specific proof they did not. The various intelligence agencies that investigated this have said that the Russian did not hack voting machines or change vote tallies. That right there shows beyond any shadow of a doubt that Trump won fair and square and is the legitimate President of the United States.
Which brings us back to Carter’s conspiracy theory that somehow placing goofy ads on FaceBook unfairly swung the election in Trump’s favor. Many of these ads were pro-Black Lives Matter and in support of leftist nonsense. If those ads did have an influence on the election it certainly wasn’t to help Trump out.
The key words here are “tried” and “attempted” which are words that you use when someone failed. The Russians “tried” to influence the election and they “attempted” to interfere with it. There isn’t one intelligence agency or investigation that says the Russians succeeded in this.
But hey, as long as we’re re-litigating elections, let’s go back and take at look at 1976 when Carter was elected. Based on how his ineptitude helped out Iran, surely the Iranians interfered in the election on his behalf. I think we can all agree that if we could wipe the books clean of Jimmy Carter’s presidency, American history wins.
