For someone who says a lot of really dumb things, it’s hard for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to top herself. Notice I said “hard” and not “impossible.” AOC’s latest idiocy is that US citizenship is racist. How? As usual she’s not real clear on the details of her stupidity and trying to make sense out of her can cause an aneurism, but she’s pretty adamant that the concept of citizenship in the country is a hate crime.
Here’s a thing that she wrote, looked at, and still decided to hit the send button:

The 1st US immigration law was the Chinese Exclusion Act. It was a race-based policy that was upheld until 1942.

Okay, so at this point AOC is saying that historically citizenship has been a racist tool of oppression against minorities but, hang on to your hats, she also says this is still going on:

That’s a key part of policy in a wide range of issues from schooling to marijuana + yes, immigration too.

Yup, not only is citizenship racist, but so are education and drug enforcement. Actually, she not only says these things are racist but that they also kill people. It’s hard to believe such a brilliant mind was wasted tending bar until only recently, isn’t it?
Without citizenship, we wouldn’t have a country. The United States of America wouldn’t exist if we didn’t have defined borders and a legal status for people who have a right to be here. I don’t doubt that AOC’s endgame is destroy this country, so her calling citizenship racist and alluding that she wants to ban it doesn’t come as much of a shock. It does’t make it not dumb, but it is non-shocking.
I wonder if AOC thinks all citizenship is racist, or just US citizenship. Are Chinese citizens racist? Are Guatemalan citizens racist. I’m guessing it’s just US citizens because obviously as the greatest most-benevolent and generous nation the world has ever know, we are simply the worst people.
AOC is an American citizen, so in reality she just called herself a racist too. Democrats do have a solid double-standard in place, so she probably meant that everyone else with American citizenship is a racist, not her. Still, it leaves her looking like a hypocrite. Kind of like when guilty white liberals rage against “white privilege.”
No seriously, this AOC twitter thread is her screaming: “US Citizenship is racist and we must do away with it immediately!”
I think the easiest way to solve her dilemma is for her to renounce her “racist” citizenship. Maybe she can even convince her fellow democrats to do the same. They would no longer be able to serve in Congress, so it’s really a win-win for everyone. Democrats don’t have to be a part of a system they think is racist and we don’t have to be represented by whacko leftists who clearly hate our country.
AOC’s donkey teeth are speciesism and her idiocy is anti-intellectualism but US citizenship is not racism.
