The 2000’s called and they want their lack of accountability back. Much like how Barack Obama blamed all of his shortcomings on his predecessor, his VP is doing the same. Joe Biden, who as a Senator, voted to authorize war with Iraq is now saying that the only reason he did so was because of George W. Bush. In retrospect, Bush was the most influential president in US history, affecting everything and everyone. Either that or Biden is full of shit.
And speaking of shit, Biden has been taking a lot of it on the campaign trail for his 2002 vote authorizing war with Iraq. At a sparsely attended rally in New Hampshire on Saturday, Biden was asked about this particular vote.
“The mistake I made was trusting President Bush, who gave me his word he was using it for the purpose of getting inspectors in to see what was going on, whether they were producing nuclear weapons,” said Biden.
Oh see, that makes perfect sense. It wasn’t Biden’s fault he voted for it, it was the irresistible influence of a president from another party.
“My mistake was looking the man in the eye who had to lie to me and said ‘I’m not going to take us to war. This is merely to get inspectors in,’” Biden said.
You know, because Bush Jr. has those hypnotic Dracula eyes that renders people powerless to resist.
There’s certainly some lying going on here and it has nothing to do with Bush Jr.
Biden’s claim is that he had no idea authorizing war with Iraq meant he was authorizing war with Iraq. He thought this war authorization act meant that nuclear inspectors were going to enter Iraq peacefully.
Sure, it was called the “Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002” but Biden had no idea he was authorizing military force against Iraq.
Not only does this make Biden look like an idiot, it shows that he thinks the rest of us are stupid too.
Actually what it shows is that Biden should have never been a US Senator in the first place. If he can’t even understand basic English, how could he possibly process the intricacies of a sticky foreign policy crisis? And if Biden should have never been a Senator, he sure as hell shouldn’t be President of the United States. I’m not saying he was qualified for VP, but he definitely shouldn’t be running the show.
At the same sparsely-attended campaign rally, this other thing came out of Biden’s mouth:
“We have to unite this country. That’s not very much in vogue these days. I’m told that, you know, Biden thinks we should go back to the old days. I don’t want to go back to anything old. Nothing,” said Biden.
Really? He’s not going back to anything old? He just denied personal responsibility for something he did by blaming George Bush, which is straight out of Obama’s playbook. 2008-2016 isn’t ancient history, but it sure isn’t fresh.
The new way is for Obama to take credit for all of the great things President Trump has done by claiming he laid the groundwork for those successes. Unfortunately for Biden, this new way doesn’t help him explain to hysterical liberals why he voted to authorize the Iraq War.
The good news for Biden is that the liberal media will not apply even the slightest bit of scrutiny on this clearly bullshit answer. They will let him run with the “blame Bush” thing and never question why he did what he did.
