Democrats are constantly whining that the will of the people and free and fair elections are destroying our democracy, mostly because they’re idiots and liars. At the same time, they do everything possible to rig elections and game the system in their favor. On Tuesday California passed a law that would keep President Trump off of the ballot. I suppose they think it makes sense that preventing people from voting for the candidate they want is preserving democracy, but I can assure them it’s not.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed legislation Tuesday requiring President Donald Trump to publicly release his tax returns before he can appear on the state’s primary ballot in 2020.
The bill, known as the “Presidential Tax Transparency and Accountability Act,” would also apply to gubernatorial candidates and requires the release of tax returns for the most recent five years. The measure sailed through the state’s Democratic-led legislature.
“These are extraordinary times and states have a legal and moral duty to do everything in their power to ensure leaders seeking the highest offices meet minimal standards, and to restore public confidence,” said Newsom.
Yeah, nothing restores public confidence in the democratic process like a rigged election where only candidates from the party in power appear on the ballot.
Technically Trump could get on the ballot if he released his tax returns but he is not going to be bullied by the ridiculous democrats of California. I do imagine this law will be challenged in court as it’s extremely unconstitutional.
This is only for California’s primary so it’s probably not that big of a deal, but the optics are horrible for the democrats. Trump is the incumbent and will be the GOP nominee no matter what happens in liberal Cali, but it doesn’t stop the liberals in charge of the state from looking like a bunch of crybaby bitches.
Aside from being a direct attack on President Trump, this law is also an extreme case of voter suppression. If no Republican is going to be on the ballot, no Republicans are going to show up to vote. That means all of the stupid and wasteful initiatives that will also be on the ballot will pass unchallenged. Democrats cry that voter ID laws are voter suppression, which they aren’t, but keeping a major political party off the ballot certainly is.
California already has the state rigged because of their “jungle primary” system. Instead of having candidates representing both the democratic and Republican parties, many times voters are forced to choose between 2 democrats. In the past few elections I haven’t even had the option to vote for a Republican in US Senate races. How is that representative of a strong democracy?
Several other liberal states are also considering laws to keep Trump off the ballot, even in the general election if he doesn’t release his taxes. I know democrats think they’re very clever for coming up with this nonsense, but all it really does is give Trump a legitimate legal challenge in the unlikely event he loses the 2020 election. If he’s not on the ballot in several states, it’s not a free and fair election. The conservative SCOTUS is going to rule in favor and Trump and he’ll retain the presidency.
The truth is, democrats are going so crazy that there’s no way Trump loses. Keeping him off the ballot is just one of the many insane things democrats are doing to turn moderate and independent voters into Trump supporters.
