Cough Them Up! Trump Suggests Subpoena Of Obama Book Deal Records

Turnabout is fair play…

President Trump continues to strike fear into the hearts of his tormentors after this week’s congressional testimony by Robert Mueller was an abject disaster.

Dems and the media had spent months hyping the glorious appearing of Mueller, the long-awaited Trump-slayer who they had trumpeted.

Then they watched in slack-jawed horror as the former special counsel was exposed as a doddering senile mess who was clearly only a figurehead of the witch hunt.

With the resistance in damage control mode after the venerated Mueller peed on their parade by dealing a perhaps fatal blow to the impeachment lynch mob, Trump has wasted little time in going on offense.

During a Friday counteroffensive waged from the Oval Office, the leader of the free world called for some long-overdue scrutiny into the obscenely lucrative book deal inked by his ethically- bereft predecessor, Barack Obama.

President Trump on Friday lashed out at Democrats over their ongoing investigations into his administration, suggesting there should instead be probes into former President Obama’s book deal and other activities under his predecessor.

“They want to investigate, they want to go fishing and I watched Bob Mueller and they have nothing,” Trump said of Democrats during an Oval Office gathering to announce an agreement with Guatemala.

“It’s a disgrace,” he continued. “We want to find out what happened the last Democrat president. Let’s look into Obama the way they’ve looked into me. From day one they’ve looked into everything we’ve done.”

“They could look into the book deal that President Obama made. Let’s subpoena all of his records,” Trump continued. “Let’s subpoena all of the records having to do with Hillary Clinton and all of the nonsense that went on with Clinton and her foundation and everything else.”

The Obamas’ book deal that brought the royal family a reported $65 million was reported shortly after they were choppered away from the White House after adult leadership was restored.

Former U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have signed a joint book deal to release both their memoirs via Penguin Random House, the publisher announced Tuesday night.

The package deal had been subject to a bidding war between various top publishing houses in recent weeks.

The Financial Times reports that Penguin Random House paid an excess of $65 million for memoirs by both Obamas. The publisher declined to comment, however, the FT said.

That figure would eclipse the amount earned by fellow former presidents for their memoirs after departing the White House. According to The New York Times, Bill Clinton’s My Life pocketed him over $10 million, while George W. Bush’s Decision Points sold for an estimated $10 million.

Trump did not mention the equally questionable deal with Netflix:
