Housebroken at last?
In an interesting development, it would appear that Nancy Pelosi may have finally managed to get the upper hand on freshman firebrand Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The former bartender who was able to leverage a mighty social media following into becoming arguably the most powerful member of the House has been the proverbial bull in a China shop since her election last year.
But it didn’t take long for the socialist Twitter diva to fray the nerves of Pelosi as well as many of her fellow Democrats and after a series of spats between the Speaker and the young upstart, it seems that the impossible may have occurred and that the yappy troublemaker has finally been housebroken.
With a move that nobody saw coming, Ocasio-Cortez has broken from her controversial chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti who abruptly resigned this week. Chakrabarti was recently blasted as a “snot-nosed punk” by former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and has been seen by many as a malevolent influence over the 29-year-old congresswoman.
The resignation occurred after AOC met with Pelosi and has coincided with the youngster’s cutting back on her inflammatory tweets including the lie about children being forced to drink from toilets at border detention facilities which she also shamelessly compared to Nazi concentration camps.

Via The Hill, “Ocasio-Cortez chief of staff to leave her office”:
Rumors of Chakrabarti’s exit had circulated around Capitol Hill in recent days, with multiple Democratic sources saying he was not expected to return to Ocasio-Cortez’s office after the recess.
Chakrabarti sparked outrage from members of the Democratic caucus last month after he tweeted messages attacking centrist Democrats, insinuated that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is an ineffective leader and suggesting Native American lawmaker Rep. Sharice Davids (D-Kan.) voted “to enable a racist system” by voting in favor of a Senate border aid bill that didn’t include provisions backed by progressives.
Critics argued Chakrabarti’s rhetoric on social media was highlighting divisions within the party, with the House Democratic Caucus responding to his accusations on Twitter.
“Who is this guy and why is he explicitly singling out a Native American woman of color?” stated a tweet from the House Democratic Caucus account sent last month. The tweet noted Chakrabarti’s tweet about Davids and was retweeted by a number of Democratic leadership staffers.
As a founder of the extremist group Justice Democrats, Chakrabarti has been the barely hidden hand pulling AOC’s strings but ran afoul of top Dems when he accused Native American Congresswoman Sharice Davids of enabling a racist system.
The official House Democrats Twitter account went to the unprecedented length of calling out AOC’s Svengali over his attack on a “woman of color” which may have the end of the line for Pelosi.

He was also criticized for his shirt that glorified Nazi sympathizer Subhas Chandra Bose which is definitely good optics considering the anti-Semitic bent of the Justice Democrats and their cadre of radical congresswomen.

Pelosi also had been backed into a political corner after President Trump declared open war on AOC and her three racist, anti-Semitic cohorts Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley aka “The Squad” and was successfully defining them as the face of the Democratic party.
Pelosi is many things but she hasn’t made it to where she is by being stupid or lacking a killer instinct and that is what likely moved her to pull back hard on Ocasio-Cortez’s choke chain.
To AOC, it may be a lot of fun being a Twitter revolutionary but when it comes down to it, the modern-day Cinderella is likely not keen to the idea of having the carriage turn back into a pumpkin next November when she’s up for reelection in a district that she deprived of thousands of high paying jobs when she torpedoed the Amazon deal.
Her life of fame and living large off the backs of American taxpayers could all come to an end if Pelosi doesn’t support her next November and the last thing that Ocasio-Cortez wants is to end up back slinging drinks the Flats Fix tequila and taco bar again.
Whether Ocasio-Cortez has been broken from soiling the carpet remains to be seen but with Chakrabarti out of the equation, it is possible that she will be keeping a much lower profile for a while.
