Liberal Editor Demands Government Stop People From Spending Their Own Money On What They Want

I just got done telling you how liberals have to be in a constant state of outrage and they are currently furious over the new cast of Dancing with the Stars. It must be a slow outrage day because I mangled to find an even sillier example. The editor of liberal website Vox is pissed that the government doesn’t do anything to stop people from spending their own money on things they want to. This cements the liberal position that your money belongs to the state.

Vox is the dumb liberal website that explains the news to dumber liberals. Matt Yglesias is the head dummy at Vox and to prove it he sent out a series of really dumb tweets. Unfortunately he deleted them before anyone could get screenshots, but Twitchy has the rotting carcass remains of the embedded tweets.

“The government should try to do something to discourage expensive weddings (and wedding related activities) which seem to cause a lot of stress in people’s finances and interpersonal relationships & probably discouraged people from getting married,” wrote Yglesias.

Is this guy serious? Sadly, yes.

“We’d be way better off with a norm of cheaper weddings and the money repurposed for family vacations down the road,” Yglesias wrote.

Wow, this guy has really given us a lot to consider, hasn’t he? In his infinite wisdom he believes the government should pass a law restricting the amount of money a couple can spend on their wedding and he says we’ll all be better off for it.

Generally speaking, more government control over our lives is a bad thing, but this one has some added negative aspects. I don’t know about you, but if I get invited to a wedding and they aren’t going to have an open bar, I don’t RSVP. Spend some money on that reception if you want me to show up with a chaffing dish, cheap-ass.

Also…

Why in the hell would he even think the government would have authority to dictate what legal goods and services people can spend their own money on? Oh yeah, he’s a liberal, that’s why.

After taking a ton of shit on Twitter, Yglesias struck back with another tweet he also deleted:

“The number of conservatives yelling to me on Twitter that the government should mind its own business and not care about marriage or family life is really remarkable, though I guess fitting for the fallen Trump-era version of the movement,” wrote Yglesias.

How’s that for some spin? He’s not an idiot for calling for government regulation on wedding expenditures, Republicans are hypocrites for not embracing “family values.” Plus he managed to to take a shot at Trump and anyone who supports him. Why did he delete this tweet, it’s so absurd in its logic that it qualifies as a modern art masterpiece.

Republicans standing up against big government overreach and supporting personal freedom is as true to conservatism as fiscal responsibility. Nice try, though.

Besides proving he is a complete assclown, what these deleted tweets show is that Matt Yglesias and all liberals want the government to control every aspect of people’s lives. Well, as long as they are in charge of the government. It’s actually a nice reminder of why liberals should never be in charge of anything because they are fascist freedom-haters.
