In their never-ending quest to ruin this country, House democrats held another hearing on Wednesday to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement and to open our borders to a foreign invasion. Part of this clown show involved democrats yelling at former ICE director Tom Homan. He didn’t however sit there and take the abuse but rather suggested that if democratic lawmakers don’t like our immigration laws they should change them. This set off empty can Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who for some reason was chairing the committee, and gave us one of the funniest moments of 2019 when she couldn’t figure out how to bang the gavel.
The House Oversight Committee held a hearing today to continue to bitch about President Trump enforcing existing immigration laws. For reasons that only make sense to them, they brought in former acting ICE Director Tom Homan, but it wasn’t for him to testify. Instead, he was expected to sit there while democrats yelled at him, shaking their fists in anger.
Muslim Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib used her time to go after Homan like this:
“Mr. Homan, as a fellow American I just want you to know, your contribution as acting director of ICE under this administration will always be remembered as one that was very ruthless and inhumane treatment of asylum seekers. I’m deeply troubled by your opening statement and continued assault on innocent lives, and I ask that this administration please stop playing politics with the lives of the children before this committee, but also with the lives of many Americans that are directly impacted by the continued broken immigration system in our country,” said Tlaib.
Horman asked committee chair AOC if he could respond to Tlaib’s attack and she denied him the opportunity to speak. Luckily, Republican Chip Roy deferred some of his time so Horman could defend himself.
“Let’s be frank on what ICE does. ICE last year took [enough] opioids off the streets of this country that could have killed every man, woman and child in the United States twice. They’ve arrested thousands of sexual predators that preyed on children. They rescued thousands of children who were victims of predators. They’ve arrested hundreds of women who were victims of sex trafficking. I am proud of the agency and ICE,” said Homan.
AOC was growing increasingly impatient with Homan.
“In my 34 years, I’ve never seen such hate toward a law enforcement agency in my life that you want to abolish them rather than do your job and legislate. If they don’t like it, legislate,” Homan said.
As Homan was talking AOC kept reprimanding him that his time was up and that he needed to shut up, but nevertheless he persisted. Eventually, someone sitting next to the near-hysterical AOC pointed out that she had a gavel and could bang it she wanted. Here’s a better view from fan-favorite Dan Bongino:

Oooh, what’s this hammer-looking thingy?
In addition to not knowing what a gavel is, AOC also has no idea that her job as a lawmaker is to, you know, make laws. I’ve never been able to figure out why people elected this dangerously stupid person to Congress and now I’m even more confused that the democratic leadership would let her chair a committee.
