Trump Mocks Latest RINO Chump Trotted Out For Primary Challenge

The Never Trumpers are really scraping the bottom of the barrel now…

With little fanfare outside of the Sunday morning gabfests, the latest Republican primary challenger to President Trump was rolled out by the GOP’s Romney wing.

It was during “Fox News Sunday” that former South Carolina governor Mark Sanford threw his hat into the ring as an alternative to Trump even if his candidacy will help the radical socialist Democrats by siphoning off votes.

According to Sanford, the Republican Party has “lost its way” and it is up to him to be the chosen one to lead it out of the wilderness.

With his scandalous past having receded from the memories of Americans who will not be reminded that in 2009 he disappeared for six days during which he engaged in a steamy and adulterous affair with his Argentinian mistress, Sanford is now being treated like a player.

Via “Ex-SC Gov. Mark Sanford to challenge Trump in primary”:

Mark Sanford, the former South Carolina governor and congressman, has decided to launch a longshot Republican challenge to President Donald Trump, saying Sunday that he aims to put his Appalachian trail travails behind him for good as he tries to navigate a path to the presidency.

“I am here to tell you now that I am going to get in,” Sanford said in an interview on “Fox News Sunday.” ″This is the beginning of a long walk.”

When asked why he was taking on an incumbent who’s popular within the party, Sanford, who has acknowledged his slim chances by saying he doesn’t expect to become president, said: “I think we need to have a conversation on what it means to be a Republican. I think that as the Republican Party, we have lost our way.”

He joins Joe Walsh, a former tea-party-backed, one-term congressman from Illinois, and Bill Weld, the former Republican governor of Massachusetts, as primary challengers to Trump.

The 59-year-old Sanford has long been an outspoken critic of Trump’s, frequently questioning his motivations and qualifications during the run-up to the 2016 presidential election and calling Trump’s candidacy “a particularly tough pill to swallow.”

Oh, the irony of his “long walk” analogy for it was during his alleged hiking along the Appalachian Trail a decade ago, that he instead decided to do something “exotic” and flew to Argentina to do the sack dance with a woman other than his wife.

Sanford joins the two other schmucks who have announced primary challenges to Trump including radio host and former congressman Joe Walsh and former governor of ultra-liberal Massachusetts William Weld who Trump had once mocked as a drunkard.

With Sanford’s entry into the primary race having been expected for weeks, Trump launched a pre-emptive Twitter strike on the “three stooges” two weeks ago.

With Trump already having given Sanford one of his trademark nicknames, referring to the wayward lothario as “Mr. Appalachian Trail,” it is going to be pure comedy gold watching this play out with CNN trying to foist off the trio of chumps as viable candidates.

As much as the Bushies, Mitt and neocon loon Bill Kristol want to see Trump knocked out of the running before he gets reelected it is a fool’s errand and who better to turn to than an adulterous fool.

Stock up on popcorn folks!
