Turban Durbin Throws Cold Water On Impeachment Mob

Revenge-crazed Democrats have been dealt another blow in their efforts to impeach Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh over a bogus New York Times story.

In an effort to promote their new book while at the same time launching a vicious smear campaign against Kavanaugh, the authors dredged up old allegations from last fall’s Senate confirmation hearing that were unprovable.

Once the Times story was published, a chorus of 2020 Dems led by Kamala Harris and the two communists socialists Bernie and Pocahontas demanded the impeachment of the man who they couldn’t keep off the bench through the legitimate process.

Then The Squad weighed in on the matter and added more fuel to the fire.

Moving quickly to assert some adult leadership, top Democrat Senator Dick Durbin sought to derail what has all the makings of an election year debacle for his party by intervening with the rabid members of the House and the 2020 candidates.

Senior Democrats are moving quickly to snuff out calls to impeach Brett Kavanaugh, arguing those tactics are unrealistic and politically harmful.

“Get real,” as Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) put it Monday afternoon.

“We’ve got to get beyond this ‘impeachment is the answer to every problem.’ It’s not realistic,” Durbin said. “If that’s how we are identified in Congress, as the impeachment Congress, we run the risk that people will feel we’re ignoring the issues that mean a lot to them as families.”

There was a day when Dick Durbin was what passed for a radical in the Democratic party like when in 2005 he compared U.S. military personnel who were battling terrorism to Nazis.

Durbin issued a tearful apology for his appalling statement after receiving heavy criticism but it’s hard to see any of the extremists who now control his party ever apologizing for anything.

The obsession with impeaching President Trump is reaching a fever pitch despite some Democrats warning that it could blow up in their faces next year when the silent majority speaks at the ballot box but that hasn’t slowed the radicals.

But in addition to Durbin, even Nancy Pelosi is throwing cold water on the impeachment mob.

No matter that the New York Times story has been thoroughly discredited to the extent that an editor’s not had to be added as a correction, the furor to impeach Kavanaugh continues.

An earlier version of this article, which was adapted from a forthcoming book, did not include one element of the book’s account regarding an assertion by a Yale classmate that friends of Brett Kavanaugh pushed his penis into the hand of a female student at a drunken dorm party. The book reports that the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident. That information has been added to the article.

Like with Trump, any impeachment is ultimately doomed in the GOP-controlled Senate where Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham made it clear that he intends to feed any such effort by the House directly into the shredder.

And Durbin is absolutely correct that most Americans don’t care about this nonsense and that the single-minded focus on avenging Hillary’s loss has distracted the party from the kitchen table issues that actually affect real families.

The zealots will ignore his advice and the entire party will suffer as a result but the political extinction of the Democrats would be a very good thing for America.
