Schiff Tapped Former MSNBC Contributor To Question Key Ukraine Envoy
Via The Federalist
A former MSNBC contributor was tapped by Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., to question Ukraine envoy Kurt Volker during a congressional hearing on Thursday, officials with direct knowledge of the proceedings told The Federalist. Daniel Goldman, a former legal analyst for MSNBC, posed multiple questions to Volker during Thursday’s closed-door interview of Volker.
Payroll records from the U.S. House of Representatives show that Schiff hired Goldman in January of 2019. News reports from last March indicate that Schiff named Goldman as the director of investigations for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI). Schiff has used his perch as chairman of that committee to investigate and spread debunked conspiracy theories, such as Russian collusion, about President Donald Trump. Former special counsel Robert Mueller confirmed earlier this year that his investigation found zero evidence of treasonous collusion between the Russian government and the Trump campaign to steal the 2016 election from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“How can the American people trust that this impeachment process is fair if MSNBC and Adam Schiff are running the show behind the scenes?” a congressional official with direct knowledge of Thursday’s hearing told The Federalist. “This partisan mockery cannot be ignored. Schiff should be ashamed.”
At one point Goldman became so flustered during his questioning of Volker that Schiff unexpectedly shut Goldman down and began questioning Volker himself, one official said.

Trumpenstein Must Be Destroyed!

2020 is for all the marbles. The global capitalist ruling classes either crush this ongoing populist insurgency or … God knows where we go from here. Try to see it through their eyes for a moment. Picture four more years of Trump … second-term Trump … Trump unleashed. Do you really believe they’re going to let that happen, that they are going to permit this populist insurgency to continue for another four years?
They are not. What they are going to do is use all their power to destroy the monster … not Trump the man, but Trump the symbol. They are going to drown us in impeachment minutiae, drip, drip, drip, for the next twelve months. The liberal corporate media are going to go full-Goebbels. They are going to whip up so much mass hysteria that people won’t be able to think. They are going to pit us one against the other, and force us onto one or the other side of a simulated conflict (Democracy versus the Putin-Nazis) to keep us from perceiving the actual conflict (Global Capitalism versus Populism). They are going to bring us to the brink of civil war in order to prevent civil war. And, if that doesn’t work, and Trump gets reelected (or if it looks like he’s going to get reelected), they’ll probably have to just go ahead and kill him.
One way or another, this is it. This is the part where the global capitalist ruling classes teach us all a lesson. The lesson they intend to teach us is the same old lesson that masters have been teaching slaves since the dawn of slavery. The lesson is, “abandon hope.” The lesson is, “resistance is futile.” The lesson is, “shut up, eat your tofu, get back to work at your three gig jobs, service your school loans and your credit card debt, vote for who and what we tell you, and be grateful we don’t fucking kill you. Oh, yeah … and if you want to rebel against something, feel free to take up identity politics, or to march around town with posters of Saint Greta demanding that we stop destroying the planet. We’ll get right on that, don’t you worry.”

The Tech Giants Are a Conduit for Fascism
Via Liberty Blitzkrieg
That U.S. tech giants are willing participants in facilitating mass government surveillance has been widely known for a while, particularly since whistleblower Edward Snowden risked his life and liberty to tell us about it six years ago. We also know what happens to executives who don’t play ball.
Perhaps the most high profile example relates to Joseph Nacchio, CEO of telecom company Qwest in the aftermath of 9/11. Courageously, he was the only executive who pushed back against government attempts to violate the civil liberties of his customers. A few years later, he was thrown in jail for insider trading and stayed locked up for four years. He claimed his incarceration was retaliation for not bending the knee to government, which seems likely.
Charges his defense team claimed were U.S. government retaliation for his refusal to give customer data to the National Security Agency in February, 2001. This defense was not admissible in court because the U.S. Department of Justice filed an in limine motion, which is often used in national security cases, to exclude information which may reveal state secrets. Information from the Classified Information Procedures Act hearings in Nacchio’s case was likewise ruled inadmissible
Fast forward to today, and the tech giants have willingly and enthusiastically transformed themselves into compliant organs of the national security state. Big tech executives have by and large embraced this extremely lucrative and powerful role rather than push back against it. There’s simply too much money at stake, and nobody wants to go to the big house like Joe Nacchio. There is no resistance.

Franklin Graham Warns “Our Country Could Begin To Unravel” If Trump Removed From Office

The Democrats are convinced that they finally have President Trump in a trap from which he will not possibly be able to escape. Nancy Pelosi’s plan is to have articles of impeachment ready for a vote sometime around Thanksgiving, and she probably would have never started down this road if she did not believe that she already has the votes that she needs to impeach Trump. By stonewalling the investigations that are happening in Congress, Trump can try to push this timeline back a bit, but Pelosi is determined to move forward quickly. All it takes is a simple majority to impeach Trump in the House, and so Pelosi could lose quite a few Democrats and still be successful.
Then this matter would move to the U.S. Senate for a trial, and it would take 67 votes to convict Trump and remove him from office. Since the Democrats only have 47 seats in the Senate, you would think that Trump should be safe, but unfortunately, that may not be the case. Many Republicans in the Senate are not fans of Trump at all, and they may just stab Trump in the back if there is an opportunity to do so.
If Trump is removed from office, it is going to cause an explosion of political anger among conservatives like we have never seen before. On Wednesday, Franklin Graham warned that our nation could literally “begin to unravel” if that happened…

Orwell's "1984" is often criticized for its stiff, stock characters. But as with much speculative and science fiction, the "character" is the chilling world Orwell warned of. Let's hope we never meet it. https://t.co/EE0tYza6X3

George Orwell Warned Us, But Was Anyone Listening?

This horrific near-future is controlled by three rival totalitarian regimes (headquartered in America, Russia, and China) that crush all vestiges of freedom and liberty, wage perpetual warfare against one another, reduce their societies to primitive levels of existence, and propagandize the populace into zombies. The physical setting is the ravaged Great Britain, now known as Airstrip One (sections of which were still in rubble after Hitler’s bombing campaigns). Airstrip One is an outpost of the empire of Oceania (a.k.a. America—or perhaps “Amerika,” as anti-American critics of the 1950s began to write). War has raged between Oceania and its rivals, namely Eurasia (the USSR and its satellites) and Eastasia (China), continuously throughout the four decades since the close of World War II.
The plot is straightforward. Winston Smith is the hero—or antihero. (The name both evokes Britain’s much-admired wartime leader, the former prime minister Winston Churchill, and universalizes the protagonist as an Everyman. The novel’s original title, The Last Man in Europe, also sought to wed the individual and the universal.)
Winston Smith is a small fry. He is not so menial as the mindless peasant-like serfs of the regime, the “proles” (or proletarians). Rather, he is an Outer Party member of the tyrannical ruling party. Secretly, however, Winston is a dissident, hoping to serve the seditious Brotherhood, an underground rebel group resolved to overthrow Oceania’s absolute ruler, Big Brother, and his governing henchmen, the Inner Party elite. (Orwell leaves it ambiguous as to whether the never-glimpsed Big Brother really exists—or is just the regime’s public face.)

There was no way the Founding Fathers could have foreseen how the 1st Amendment would be used to allow people to say things I disagree with.https://t.co/cevNfQmZQP

Opinion: When The Founders Wrote The First Amendment, They Never Imagined There Would One Day Be Things I’d Disagree With
Via The Babylon Bee (Satire)
Times change. It was a much simpler era when the Founding Fathers wrote the First Amendment. There was no way they could have foreseen how it would become twisted in the future, namely to allow people to say things that I am certain are wrong.
Free speech is a good thing—as long as it’s used to say things that are correct. Now, I’m a reasonable, tolerant person. That means when people say things that I disagree with, they are being unreasonable and intolerant. How does it benefit society to have such things said? It does not.
As someone who has carefully thought through every issue, social and political, it’s offensive to hear things I disagree with since I know how right I am, and there is no room for having another view. And that is what the First Amendment has been perverted into: a weapon to offend people—me, for the most part. Thus it’s time to get rid of that outdated amendment and finally crack down on hate speech, or at least speech I hate.
And that means we need a committee to tell people what views they aren’t allowed to express anymore. I should be on that committee. It would be a really bad idea to have anyone else on it. Actually, the more I think about it, that terrifies me.
