Did you know prior to January 20, 2017 there were no obese black women? That is the theory of Rutgers University professor Brittney Cooper. According to the woman who was fat long before his inauguration, it is President Trump’s racism that is making black women fat. She delivered this message on OWN, a network owned by Oprah Winfrey, who was fat when Ronald Reagan was President. This is what you get when you mix liberal science with professional victimhood grievance-mongering.
Without further ado, the dumbest thing this week:
“I hate when people talk about Black women being obese. I hate it, because it becomes a way to blame us for a set of conditions that we didn’t create.” – @ProfessorCrunk.

“I hate when people talk about Black women being obese. I hate it, because it becomes a way to blame us for a set of conditions that we didn’t create,” said Cooper.
Being born with lobster claws instead of hands is a physical condition beyond a person’s control. A person’s weight and level of fitness are completely dependent upon conditions that person controls. You eat too much fatty foods and don’t exercise, chances are you’ll be overweight. You eat sensibly and work out regularly, chances are you’ll be in good shape.
Not only doesn’t Cooper not want to take responsibility for her morbid obesity, she wants to blame it all on President Trump:
“We are living in the Trump era and look, those policies kill our people. You can’t get access to good health care, good insurance,” Cooper said.
What policies? Trump tried to repeal ObamaCare but John McCain blocked that, so health care in this country is exactly as it was under Obama. Not only can her people get health care insurance, it’s mandated under federal law.
But hey, Orange man bad, so Cooper wants to blame Trump and his “racist” policies that are actually the policies of the former president, who also happens to be black.
“It’s literally that the racism that you’re experiencing and the struggle to make ends meet actually means the diet don’t work for you the same,” said Cooper.
It’s literally Trump’s racism that makes diets and exercise not work for black women? If Trump actually had these evil wizard powers, why wouldn’t he use them on Nancy Pelosi and CNN, instead of random black women?
Trump doesn’t have any health care policies or racism, which blows Cooper’s “Unified Fat Black Women” theory out of the universe, but there are other easy way to debunk this.
Obese black women existed way before Donald Trump became President of the United States. Ever seen Aretha Franklin or the mom from The Jeffersons? What about Aunt Jemima? She was fat. Brittney Cooper herself was a plumper at least as far back as the Obama presidency. She was probably secretly pissed a black man was president because she couldn’t blame her obesity on him.
Also, anyone who was skinny and fit in early January 2017, didn’t suddenly become a big fatty in the two and a half years since. Dangerous obesity, like Cooper’s, takes a lifetime of self-abuse and neglect to achieve.
Lastly, this can’t possibly be racism, because there are fat white women too. Rosie O’Donnell, Bette Midler, and Hillary Clinton (white chix) all have weight problems that also began before Trump. They can’t even claim Trump Derangement Syndrome caused their weight issues because they’ve struggled with it their entire lives.
Being overweight doesn’t make someone a bad person; blaming it on ridiculous crap like Trump’s racist health care polices does. Brittney Cooper’s stigma isn’t her obesity; it’s her stupidity.
