Two thugettes were wounded in a hail of gunfire after fleeing officers in San Mateo then trying to run over an officer on foot. The driver’s name, and I shit you not, was Rickita James. Maybe her mom (the father being most likely unknown and therefore not responsible for the naming of the child) was a fan of the funk musician, because who wouldn’t be? I mean this was a guy who was once kidnapped and tortured a woman for three days with a hot crack pipe, while forcing her to perform sexual acts upon him. Yes, I’d definitely want my child to be named after such an upstanding citizen.
But here’s what happened to Rickita and her partner in crime, Taleah Johnson.
California police release body-cam video of officer shooting woman from Newark, Delaware
California police have released body camera video of an officer-involved shooting that injured two women, including one from the Newark area.
The shooting of 30-year-old Rickita James, of Newark, and 27-year-old Taleah Johnson, of Philadelphia, came after San Mateo, California, police investigators said the two were involved in a 48-hour crime spree in late September that spanned the state.
Here’s Rickita and Rick James. There is a little bit of resemblance and most definitely a shared penchant for criminal behavior.
Both women were treated for their injuries and charged, police said.
“We are grateful that Ms. James and Ms. Johnson are both recovering from their injuries,” San Mateo Police Chief Susan Manheimer said in a department-issued video.
You’re a better “man” than I, Susan. I would have much preferred seeing these two turned into neat little packages of ground round on the pavement.
The video, which shows the officer fire into the car the women were in, comes from the body cam of the officer who fired his gun, as well as another responding officer and a private surveillance video.
“Anytime we use force, we know the images can be disturbing to the community, however, we think it’s important to release these videos to the public in full and without drawing any conclusions as the investigations … are continuing,” Manheimer said.
I WISH they were disturbing. Unfortunately I was unable to find any video that did not blur out the faces of the thugettes.
The women flew from Philadelphia to Los Angeles on Sept. 26, according to San Mateo Police detectives.
Once in California, police said the women rented a white Chevrolet Malibu, then stole a license plate registered to a Honda in Anaheim.
Over the course of 48 hours, police said the women committed at least 11 thefts in southern California and the Bay area, of which at least nine were at shopping malls and retail stores.
This includes shoplifting in Daly City on Sept. 27 before spending the night in Walnut Creek, police said. Both communities are near San Francisco.
The following day, police said the women stole a temporary license plate from a vehicle in Walnut Creek before committing multiple thefts in San Jose and Palo Alto before arriving at Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo that afternoon.
Security cameras captured the women stealing at the shopping center, including taking a woman’s wallet, police said. James and Johnson then used a credit card from the purse to buy gift cards at Macy’s, police said.
While inside the shopping center, police said a San Mateo officer noticed the women’s running car was parked in a handicapped spot without a placard. The officer also noticed the car’s VIN was covered and the license plate belonged to another vehicle.
The officer was able to call for backup as James and Johnson returned to their car. As the women left the shopping center, officers tried to stop the car.
James, who was driving, did not stop, police said. They said as officers were chasing the car, the women began throwing credit cards out.
The women’s car hit a parked vehicle during the chase, which ended shortly before 5:20 p.m. when they pulled into a cul-de-sac.
Seconds later, the women’s Malibu drove toward an oncoming police car, then reversed toward an officer on foot, police said. The officer on foot fired, striking the two women in the Malibu.
Paramedics were called and the women were treated and taken to a hospital.
Without further ado, Here’s Thelma and Louise’s last stand:
I really enjoy the part where she cries, “I’m shot!” And the officer responds, “I know you’re shot.” Would have been even better if he had said, “I know you’re shot. I’m the one who shot you, dumbass.”
The San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the Sept. 28 shooting. The police department also is investigating.
Now if all of the above was not enough to label Rickita as a total low-life scumbag, it gets worse. Check this out:
James made headlines in Delaware after she used her then-4-year-old son to steal an elderly woman’s wallet inside a Wilmington wig store in 2011.
Training a 4-year-old to steal. How pathetic is that? Good luck to that kid in later life. That is if he’s even still alive.
Wilmington police, in April 2011, released a video surveillance photo that showed James whispering to her son, who left momentarily and then returned with a woman’s purse.
Wilmington police said the boy went into the back room, took the purse and brought it back to his mother. The purse contained about $300 in cash.
James pleaded guilty to theft of a senior, endangering the welfare of a child and, in a separate case, pleaded guilty to theft.
California police have charged James with possession of a stun gun, reckless evading, burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, fraudulent use of an access card, identity theft, shoplifting and conspiracy to commit crime.
Johnson was charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, fraudulent use of an access card, identity theft, shoplifting and conspiracy.
I’d prefer them dead, but here’s to a lengthy stay behind bars for each of them.
