Billionaire Tom Steyer is running for president badly on a campaign that President Trump is corrupt and must be removed from office. In related news, the zero-percenter in the past week has been busted stealing information from a fellow candidate and for trying to buy endorsements from democratic politicians in Iowa. I know there’s a saying about fighting fire with fire, but fighting corruption with corruption definitely ain’t a thing.
Just a few days ago The Courier and Post reported that Steyer’s campaign committed some Grand Theft Info on Kamala Harris:
A South Carolina aide for Tom Steyer’s 2020 presidential campaign stole valuable volunteer data collected by Kamala Harris’ campaign using an account from when he worked with the S.C. Democratic Party, according to multiple state and national party officials.
The Democratic National Committee said they quickly caught the attempt on Friday by Steyer’s deputy S.C. state director Dwane Sims to export Harris’ data, which contained thousands of volunteer contacts collected over the course of the campaign in this critical early-voting primary state.
If you’re going to steal something like like this, why would you take it from a loser like Kamala? Her campaign is circling the drain.
As if the wasn’t bad enough, The AP reports Steyer’s campaign was offering up bribes for endorsements:
A top aide to Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer in Iowa privately offered campaign contributions to local politicians in exchange for endorsing his White House bid, according to multiple people with direct knowledge of the conversations.
The overtures from Pat Murphy, a former state House speaker who is serving as a top adviser on Steyer’s Iowa campaign, aren’t illegal — though payments for endorsements would violate campaign finance laws if not disclosed. There’s no evidence that any Iowans accepted the offer or received contributions from Steyer’s campaign as compensation for their backing.
How is this not illegal? It’s exactly like the quid pro quo nonsense democrats are currently trying to impeach President Trump over. Actually, this is worse because Steyer genuinely attempted it.
But the proposals could revive criticism that the billionaire Steyer is trying to buy his way into the White House. Several state lawmakers and political candidates said they were surprised Steyer’s campaign would think he could purchase their support.
It’s not criticism that he’s trying to buy his way into the White House, it’s a fact. That he has exactly 0% support shows that he really sucks at it. Just look at this:
Steyer has largely self-funded his presidential campaign, spending $47.6 million of his own money in the first three months since launching his bid…
I have spent $0, am not a democrat, nor am I running for presidnet and yet I have the exact amount of support as Tom Steyer. This guy seems really dumb. How the hell is he a billionaire? How the hell am I not a billionaire?
Tom Courtney, a former Democratic state senator from southeastern Iowa who’s running for reelection to his old seat, told The Associated Press that the financial offer “left a bad taste in my mouth.”
Courtney declined to name Murphy as the Steyer aide who made the offer, but several other local politicians said they received similar propositions, and all confirmed the proposal came from Murphy himself. Most spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the issue freely. Iowa state Rep. Karin Derry said Murphy didn’t explicitly offer a specific dollar amount, but made it clear Derry would receive financial support if she backed Steyer.
“It was presented more as, he has provided financial support to other down-ballot candidates who’ve endorsed him, and could do the same for you,” she said.
Courtney described a similar interaction with Steyer’s campaign.
Steyer already got the “fight corruption with corruption” campaign slogan out of this but there are some many other possibilities:
Steyer 2020: bad with money!
“To drain the swamp, you must be the swamp”
“Leaves a bad taste in your mouth”
“Quid Pro Yo!”
This guy has dropped $47 million and is polling at 0%. If he just walked around Iowa handing out hundred dollar bills saying “support me” he’d be in the top tier of democratic candidates. His scummy corrupt campaign is bad, but his irresponsible spending is absolutely disqualifying. That is if it were possible to disqualify someone who is in the race in name only.
