The U.S. House of Representatives has a rule stating no member of Congress shall boink their subordinates. This is a real rule that even applies to democrats. Recently democrat Katie Hill resigned because she was involved in sexual relationships with two of her staffers. Let’s see if this rule is serious enough to apply to even black democrats. Florida Rep. Alcee Hastings is under investigation for having a sexual relationship with his highest paid staffer.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports:
The House Ethics Committee said Thursday it is investigating U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings’ relationship with his longtime girlfriend, who is on the government payroll.
The Ethics Committee didn’t identify the staffer in question, but the case clearly refers to Patricia Williams, the deputy director in Hastings’ office in his Broward-Palm Beach County district.
Williams, who is the congressman’s highest-paid staffer, and Hastings have been in a relationship for decades. And critics have raised questions about it for years.
In 2018 the House adopted a new rule that forbids sexual relationships between Congresscritters and their employees.
[The Rule] states a member of Congress “may not engage in a sexual relationship with any employee of the House who works under the supervision” of the member or on a committee on which the member serves. It doesn’t apply to couples who are married.
That was of course when Republicans were in control of the House, but now that democrats are running the show, they aren’t real keen on taking out one of their own:
The Ethics Committee, which said it began its investigation on May 14, provided few details.
In a written statement, the committee announced that it is “aware of public allegations arising out of Representative Alcee Hastings’ personal relationship with an individual employed in his congressional office.” The committee said it is considering whether his relationship with the employee violates a House rule and whether he “has received any improper gifts” from the employee.
If it violates the House rule? Hastings is banging his highest paid staffer, who isn’t his wife. Is Hastings involved in a sexual relationship with a staffer? Yes. Is this staffer his wife? No. He’s guilty. There, I just save the House Ethics Committee a lot of time and trouble with an investigation.
Obviously the democrats on the House Ethics Committee don’t want to force a black democrat out of office because the would be racist or something. Plus it would be an acknowledgement that democrats rotten pieces of crap.
Hastings may actually be in more trouble for that “receiving improper gifts” thing. The dude is broke and majorly in debt for his legal bills when he was disbarred as a judge for taking bribes. He also owes millions in unpaid taxes and yet somehow just bought a $700,000 house. Where’d that money come from?
When Katie Hill resigned the liberal media rushed to her aid, claiming the “injustice” was going to stop young females from seeking public office. It’s certain they will do the same if Hastings is forced out by saying holding him accountable to the rules everyone else plays by will keep all future 80-year-old black men from running for Congress.
All I have to say about this is that if a naked bong hit picture of Alcee Hastings shows up, I’m done with the Internet forever. Katie Hill was bad enough.
