So much of what we read here is negative. It’s easy to explain. It’s because OUR America is under assault by Democrats turned Socialists and Communists. That’s the news. But here’s some positive news you won’t see anywhere else on the internet. That’s because no media (except me in secret I guess) were present.
As most of you know, I go to this outpatient drug and alcohol group meeting that’s mentored by a counselor two days a week. The usual procedure is the counselor guy writes questions or fill-in-the-blank statements on a dry erase board and then we go around the room answering the questions. For example today was approximately like this:
My name is _____. I am ______. I feel ______ because ______.
I get emotional when _______.
I am triggered by ______ .
I support ________.
Clean and sober time _____.
You see the pattern here.
Now as you know, Oregon has got itself a bad rap due to the majority of the populace being located on Porkland and surrounding locations, and all being-dem-wits, they vote the Communist ballot. But as I have tried to persuade you all ad nauseum, it’s just not like that here down south.
A lot of guys go into their sob stories about how they can’t see their kids anymore, etc. Yeah. Because you were a drug addled asshole. I find it hard to sympathize with anyone who abused or neglected their children.
BUT there’s a few military vets in our group. Three are Vietnam vets. Today one, who of course shall remain nameless spoke up. He’s a large man, about 6’3″ and speaks with a voice similar to Clint Eastwood, only with more bass. Dude is stoic. If you look in his eyes, you know he’s a combat vet. He pauses at length before he makes statements. And today he said this:
“I am triggered by the Democratic Party. They want to destroy everything that is American, and it pisses me off.”
I nodded my head in agreement. So much so it was like I was headbanging at a Motorhead concert. Then he continued . . .
“I support the 2nd Amendment. I support free speech. I support President Trump. I support The Wounded Warriors project, I support the V.A., etc.”
This guy has what the Marines call “command presence.” The way he speaks it’s like as someone else described it, “You could hear a fly fart in this room.”
In a room of 20 addicts, there were probably a couple of Dems in there. Not one said a word until after the counselor congratulated those who disagreed on respecting his views but keeping silent. Because as you know, libs hate all that shit. Then one coward finally spoke up, “I was gonna say something, but I didn’t.” He happened to be sitting right next to me. I shot him a dagger glare.
To which the patriotic vet said, “Hey, I support gay rights too, that doesn’t mean I’m gonna go out and smoke a pole. If you want to smoke a pole, that’s between two consenting adults. Do what you want to behind closed doors. I’m just saying that if we allow the Democrats to come to power, it will destroy America.” Truer words?
I busted up laughing while the counselor stated that maybe that remark was a “little inappropriate.” I still laughed.
When my turn came, I said, “I support the same things he believes in,” pointing at the patriot who desperately needs to be on this site.
The majority of the class backed this guy. Again, there is hope in Oregon, just not in Porkland.
So here’s some positive news for a negative world. God bless this man how has undoubtedly been through hell, stumbled and bettered himself.
