Virginia Governor Ralph “Coonman” Northam was recently gifted democratic majorities in both houses of the state legislature and vowed to pass radical gun control laws including bans and confiscations. Dozens of Virginia counties and cities have declared themselves sanctuaries that will disobey unconstitutional gun laws, so Northam has warmed them that there will be consequences. Another democrat has suggested that the Governor will use the National Guard to enforce these laws and take people’s guns. Remember, this is Virginia and not some communist country.
Northam recently backed a slate of gun control bills including an “assault weapons” ban and a normal capacity magazine ban. Democrats are mulling over what they intend to do about the existing weapons and magazines in private hands, but earlier Northam has said he favors confiscation.
Which has prompted this response as reported by WUSA:
Several cities in the Virginia Commonwealth area voted on Tuesday to be considered a “Second Amendment Sanctuary” region.
Second Amendment Sanctuary status would allow the cities to not use their public funds to enforce federal and state laws they believe will curb gun rights.
According to Virginia state officials about 30 counties and cities in Virginia have worked to protect their second amendment rights following the change of state leadership.
And there are even more places in Virginia poised to become 2nd Amendment sanctuaries.
While liberals love illegal alien sanctuaries, they hate ones that protect the Constitutional rights of American citizens. WTKR asked Northam what he thinks about this movement:
“If we have constitutional laws on the books and law enforcement officers are not enforcing those laws on the books, then there are going to be consequences, but I’ll cross that bridge if and when we get to it,” said Northam.
Consequences? That doesn’t sound very democratic. It get’s down right totalitarian when fellow democrat state Rep. Donald McEachin explained what those consequences might be.
The Washington Examiner talked to McEachin and he said Virginia sanctuary counties would be defunded:
“They certainly risk funding, because if the sheriff’s department is not going to enforce the law, they’re going to lose money. The counties’ attorneys offices are not going to have the money to prosecute because their prosecutions are going to go down,” said McEachin.
Plus this:
“And ultimately, I’m not the governor, but the governor may have to nationalize the National Guard to enforce the law. That’s his call, because I don’t know how serious these counties are and how severe the violations of law will be. But that’s obviously an option he has,” McEachin added.
No big deal, just the Virginia state government threatening to use the military to disarm the people and kill the deserters. This is literally what led up to the American Revolution and the formation of the greatest most free nation the world has ever known.
Not that there was any doubt before, but this confirms the democrats’ status as the #1 enemies of freedom. Give them just a whiff of power and the first thing they do is go after our rights.
This will end badly for Northam and the democrats. There’s no way the National Guard will fire on their fellow Americans but those patriotic rural Virginians sure as hell will rain lead down on liberal fascists trying to deny them their Constitutional and God-given rights.
