Democrats Force Anti-Impeachment Rep. Van Drew Out Of The Party

Rumors are swirling that democratic New Jersey Rep. Jefferson Van Drew is considering joining the GOP, but the truth of the matter is, he’s being forced out by his own party. Van Drew was one of only 2 democrats who voted against Pelosi and Schiff’s sham impeachment inquiry and the party has no patience for dissenters. Rather than facing the embarrassment of not getting full democratic support in next week’s House vote on articles of impeachment, they are cutting loose the rational thinkers.

The Hill reports that democrats have pretty much confirmed Van Drew is leaving the party:

Van Drew has begun informing his staff and fellow New Jersey lawmakers that he will leave the Democratic Party, according to two Democratic senior aides.

Van Drew met with President Trump on Friday to discuss a possible flip to the Republican Party.

Fox News says that there’s probably going to be a Rose Garden ceremony to welcome Van Drew to the GOP.

In all likelihood, Van Drew will become a Republican, but it’s not all that likely that this was his decision. A statement from democratic NJ Governor Phil Murphy makes it clear he was forced out.

“Jeff Van Drew has chosen his political career over our Constitution. Despite knowing full well that the president has abused the powers of his office, Congressman Van Drew is now willing to enable Donald Trump just to try to salvage his own election. Betraying our values by siding with Donald Trump is the final straw and made it impossible for him to continue being supported by our party, as grassroots activists, local party leaders in his district, and I have made clear in recent weeks,” said Murphy in a statement.

In other words, either you swallow the democratic party nonsense or GTFO. Since Van Drew is being forced out, democrats need to launch a smear campaign as well.

“He’s an NRA favorite. He’s passed no meaningful legislation, he’s raised no money and his own polling shows he has no chance in the election. This has nothing to do with impeachment and everything to do with a politician who hasn’t delivered for his constituents,” said a senior democratic source.

He was great until he refused to drink the democratic party’s Kool-Aid and now he’s worse than Hitler.

This makes the democrats weak case for impeachment look even worse. They have essentially impeached one of their own because Van Drew wouldn’t go along with their sham impeachment.

Are they going to send out a follow-up tweet touting the district flipping back to red? This has aged worse than Nancy Pelosi’s botched Botox injections.

The House is set to vote on articles of impeachment on Wednesday and it will be a straight partisan affair. No Republicans will vote for this farce and even some vulnerable democrats in red and swing districts may reject it. In order to save some face it looks like the democrats are purging their ranks of anyone who won’t toe the party line.
