Another day, another thug dies.
Cops release video of Bronx traffic stop where officers shot dead motorist
Before we get the video rolling let’s just take a minute to mock that headline, shall we? “Cops release video of Bronx traffic stop where officers shot dead motorist.” This implies that said motorist was already dead and that police shot a corpse. Further, I didn’t know that the dead were able to drive. I guess I was wrong because this zombie sure was.
But this is what passes for journalism these days I suppose. ANYwaaaaay . . . back to the story.
NYPD body camera video captures the frantic final moments where cops fatally shoot a motorist who attempted to flee a routine Bronx traffic stop after a desperate struggle.
Cops stopped Allan Feliz, 31, for not wearing a seat belt as he drove his 2018 Volkswagen on Bainbridge Ave. near E. 211th St. in Norwood around 3:00 pm Oct. 17.
Here’s a picture of today’s star.
And wouldn’t you know it . . . every single picture of him is like this. Him smiling or grinning. There’s even one of him kissing a baby!
Dude has been in federal prison and also has convictions for robbery, possession, of marijuana, and God knows what else, and not ONE mugshot available? At least I couldn’t find one. But the media are once again trying to spin this as another “gentle giant” who was trying to get his life back together. Just another dindu.
A check of Feliz’ license showed the officers that he had at least three outstanding arrest warrants, sources said.
The warrants must have been pretty serious for him to resist like he did. He must have been facing a long stint in prison. Let’s see what they were for. Disorderly conduct, littering and unlicensed driving. Wow. Was it really worth your life to fight cops over these petty charges? Poor life choice, dude.
Oh, and what this article DOESN’T mention is that he provided cops with his brother’s I.D. Oldest trick in the book that rarely works and didn’t work here.
The 18-minute video — narrated by an NYPD spokesman and not edited for language — was assembled from the body cams of three officers — Sgt. Jonathan Rivera, who fired the fatal shot, Officer Edward Barrett, who grappled with Feliz, and officer Michelle Almanzar, who assisted in the struggle and called for back up.
No, the video is not edited for language, nor is it edited for the frantic shrieking and squealing that emits from Feliz’ after he gets tased.
And now here it is.
At about 5:50 into the video Feliz has even better cause to squeal; he takes a round to the chest. And here it again at 11:40! Bang! “AaaAAAaaaaAA!’
The graphic video . . .
. . . it’s hardly graphic. But the gunshot and resulting squealing are priceless!
. . . shows the cops asking Feliz to get out of the car. He complied — but suddenly jumped back in and tried to peel away.
Barrett reached into the car in a frantic attempt to take control of the vehicle, and Rivera fired a Taser at Feliz from the passenger side window.
Rivera then dived into the car over an uninvolved passenger, and wrestled Feliz while warning him repeatedly to stand down.
In the words of the poets Geto Boys, ‘Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangsta,’ “And all I gotta say to you wannabe, gonnabe, cock sucking, pussy-eating pranksters,” when confronted by police do what this passenger did. Notice he’s not resisting or mouthing off, and is clearly showing his hands to police. Therefore he didn’t get shot. See how this works? It’s not rocket science or even elementary addition.
“Yo bro — I’m going to have to shoot you!” Rivera warned.
About 1½ minutes into the struggle, Rivera fired his service weapon.
Feliz was rushed to Montefiore Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver’s family confirmed that Feliz got out of federal prison about a year ago after six-year stint on charges of conspiring to burglarize a pharmacy.
Attorney General Letitia James’ office is investigating the shooting.
Something else this article fails to mention in their attempts to make this look like an unnecessary shooting is the following:
“During the struggle, Feliz shifted the car into drive, moving the car forward and backwards, with the sergeant still inside the vehicle.
When the car was put in reverse, the officer on the driver’s side had to release his grip on the male and jump out of the way to avoid getting struck by the car. The driver’s door then quickly closed.”
The family is of course suing the NYPD and the city for millions of dollars, claiming racial profiling among other things. Their lawyer stated, ““We believe there is a shoot-to-kill mentality within the police in The Bronx,” he said, adding that less-than-deadly force should have been used against Feliz, who was at the wheel.”
What the fuck do you think a taser is, asshole?
Also not mentioned is that police discovered, “What cops characterized as “a substantial amount of drugs” was recovered, including apparent cocaine and heroin.”
Ahhhh! So THAT’S why he was so desperate to escape.
His mother (who doesn’t speak English, by the way) said, ““He was so happy because of the birth of his son Eli,” she said of Feliz.
So happy about it that he was selling cocaine and heroin, and tried to run over a cop!
He would have made a TERRIFIC father!
His death is probably the best thing that could happen for that child.
