Lying Elizabeth Warren is suddenly very concerned about lies. Not hers, but ones that may hurt her. That’s why the woman who spent most of her life lying about her ethnicity has unveiled a plan to combat the spread of false information. Warren likes to brag that she has a plan for everything, but so far she doesn’t have one to deal with her own lack of self-awareness.
Here’s the problem as Elizabeth Warren sees it:
Since the 2016 election, investigations, congressional hearings, academic research, and countless news stories have detailed the efforts by foreign actors to influence our elections by spreading false information on social media platforms.
Warren kicks this plan off with a lie, which seems about right coming from her. She claims the Russians, “sought to benefit the Republican party by creating fraudulent accounts on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook and using them to post and spread false and inflammatory information.”
But in the next paragraph admits that these Russian social media posts also targeted, “Conservatives,” which somehow means: “These disinformation efforts did not target all Americans equally.”
For a plan to stamp out disinformation, Warren sure did use a lot of disinformation to sell it. Try to count the lies in this paragraph:
Disinformation erodes our democracy, and Democrats must have a plan to address it. Donald Trump has welcomed foreign interference in our elections, inviting interference from a host of countries that have an interest in the outcome, including Iran and China. He’s currently facing impeachment for putting his own political interests over the national interests of the United States – and there is every indication that if he is not removed from office, he will continue to do so.
I found 6 lies:
Trump hasn’t welcomed foreign interference in any election.
Trump hasn’t invited Iran or China to interfere in our elections.
Trump isn’t “facing” impeachment, House democrats actually impeached him.
Trump never put his own interests above the United States.
Trump can’t continue to do something that he never did in the first place.
The only reason to remove Trump from office is because democrats know they can’t beat him fair and square.
Allrighty then, lying Warren is using lies to sell her plan to stop lies, so what does that entail? Well, she basically wants a government takeover of social media, with the feds controlling the content allowed on platforms. There’s nothing quite like government censorship to stop the flow of false information, is there? Presumably she means when the government is controlled by democrats.
Plus there’s this:
Push to create civil and criminal penalties for knowingly disseminating false information
Wow! She wants to put people in jail for retweeting something that the democrat-controlled federal government doesn’t like? That’s a little too Stalinist for my tastes.
In addition to criminalizing retweets and likes, Warren has vowed to lead by example in the funniest least self-aware thing ever:
My campaign will not knowingly use or spread false or manipulated information, including false or manipulated news reports or doctored images, audio, and videos on social media.
My campaign will not knowingly promote content from fraudulent online accounts.
My campaign will not knowingly allow campaign staff or surrogates to spread false or manipulated information on social media.
Does that include spreading false information about DNA tests?
Warren cannot possibly honor this pledge because she’s pathological liar. She lies about her heritage, her employment record, sexism, racism, her father, her son, and she’d lie about her holy ghost too if she had one. Any time she or her campaign does a social media post, it is in fact spreading false information because nothing about her is true.
This is on par with Hillary Clinton vowing to stop sexual assault and harassment. When your own house is cluttered with garbage, you have no right to shake your fist at your neighbors demanding they clean up a bit.
