If you’ve been following dimwit Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, you may have noticed a pattern of behavior: She says something stupid, people point out her stupidity, and then she accuses her critics of being violent racists while doubling down on her stupidity. A few days ago, AOC claimed the coronavirus was racist and proof that we need slave reparations to stop the pandemic. This is obviously one of the dumbest things anyone has ever said and AOC can’t possibly defend it, but she is claiming that she’s receiving violent threats from racists because that’s the only way she debates.
This is something AOC was proud to send last Friday:
COVID deaths are disproportionately spiking in Black + Brown communities.
Why? Because the chronic toll of redlining, environmental racism, wealth gap, etc. ARE underlying health conditions.
Inequality is a comorbidity. COVID relief should be drafted with a lens of reparations.
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) April 3, 2020
She got dragged all over Twitter, but instead of trying to explain how a virus is racist and picking on people of color or how granting slave reparations will stop the pandemic, AOC went this route:
I deal w/ a lot of violent threats, vitriol, etc.
But I never get more hate aimed at me than when I address racial inequities.
If some people think racial disparities are as much a myth as other issues I discuss, then why do they get so much more violent & angry on this topic?
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) April 4, 2020
Okay, where are the violent threats? If she was receiving violent threats from hateful racists, why didn’t she subtweet them or at least get some screen shots? These are rhetorical questions because she didn’t receive any violent threats from racists. She was criticized for being an imbecile and interpreted that as violent racism.
As per the AOC pattern, her next step was to double-down on her original idiocy and here it is:
To all the people that said “there’s no evidence racial disparities in COVID impact exist.” ⬇️⬇️⬇️
I represent the most impacted neighborhoods in the country: Corona & East Elmhurst.
These are overwhelmingly Black & Latino neighborhoods. Louis Armstrong’s house is here. https://t.co/NPAXdR1GHS
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) April 4, 2020
So she represents a neighborhood named “Corona” and thinks that makes the coronavirus racist? Also, is she implying the coronavirus killed Louis Armstrong? He died in 1971.
As you can see, AOC included a graph that shows blacks in Michigan make up 14% of the population but 40% of the coronavirus deaths, thus proving how damn racist this disease is. Here’s a better and more science-based explanation: Detroit is the coronavirus hotspot in Michigan and the city is 79% black. If they only represent 40% of the deaths, they are badly underrepresented, which actually may be racism, but not against blacks.
Finally, AOC says if you don’t believe coronavirus is racist it’s because you don’t know what real racism looks like:
I incl that last detail to illustrate that these are also HISTORICALLY Black communities, which means they have been impacted by racist policies like redlining for generations.
This pandemic is happening in CONTEXT. & a lot of folks who deny racism have no idea what it really is
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) April 4, 2020
When people with at least average intelligence post erroneous information, they usually delete the tweet and apologize or clarify. When AOC drops a Twitter turd her reaction is to keep shoveling on more shit until people get tired of pointing out how insanely ignorant she is. Just in case that doesn’t work, she accuses everyone of being afraid of a strong woman of color, calls them racist, and cries that she’s the victim of violent attacks.
