Los Angeles is huge both in terms of area and population and is one of, if not the, most under-policed cities in the country. If you saw any of the unimpeded riots recently, you get the idea of the problem. Since Los Angeles is run entirely by liberals that means there are liberal solutions coming to “fix” this. LA’s Mayor already announce massive cuts in the LAPD budget and now the city council says they will be replacing many officers with unarmed mystery people, possibly social workers but definitely doofuses who have no business policing.
LA city council president Herb Wesson Jr. announced that public safety is taking a backseat to the demands of street scum who are looting and burning the city.
The Los Angeles City Council has just approved the first step in our plan to replace LAPD with a community-based, unarmed emergency responders for non-violent calls for service. This is the dawn of a new era of public safety in Los Angeles.

Seriously, who are these “unarmed emergency responders” he’s talking about? They ain’t cops and they ain’t EMTs. My guess is they are people with liberal arts degrees in shit like gender and ethnic studies who can’t find a job that doesn’t involve pouring coffee. My other guess is that after 10 or so of them a killed responding to 911 calls, the city will rethink this plan.
And that’s the thing, people call the police when a crime has been committed or is actively happening. Police don’t respond to nonsense calls, they respond to crimes. Which of these crimes are non-violent? Also, many times a call that doesn’t sound dangerous can turn to shit in a second.
The bottom line is that the way things have been going is not working for our communities. This last month has made that crystal clear. We have a responsibility to listen to our people, and our people have spoken.

He’s right on that one. For the past month the LAPD has been told to stand down and watch while thugs loot stores and destroy property. That obviously doesn’t work and having even less policing will work less.
This won’t solve all of our problems right away. But this move marks a sea change in our city’s approach to public safety and I’m optimistic cities and counties across the nation will follow our lead.

It won’t solve any problems and not one city is going to look at a spike in violent crime and social worker deaths in LA and try to emulate it.
Scumbags and criminals are out on the street being scum and committing crime while demanding that the police be defunded and dismantled. The reason for this demand is because with less cops these assholes can commit more crime, not because they believe in any of this social justice nonsense.
The LA city council (all liberals) have decided to honor the demands of the unruly mob of criminals and take cops off the streets. This is like lowering the age of consent because pedophiles demand “justice.” It won’t make the public safer, just the scumbags.
