Besides the coronavirus pandemic, there have been a couple of other things going on since March: A record number of people buying guns and a massive spike in violent crime. The Washington Post seems to think these things are connected because as a lefty purveyor of fake news, they would prefer to blame legal gun owners than criminal street scum. Somehow they resisted blaming COVID-19 deaths on lawful gun ownership, but that’s probably what they’ve got cooking up for their weekend outrage.
Gun sales are up 80% in 2020 over 2019. Much of that has been driven by first the coronavirus and then the George Floyd riots. There have already been over 6 million background checks performed this year. Background checks don’t necessarily mean gun sales, but this is pretty good indicator that Americans, law-abiding Americans, are tooling up to protect themselves from the angry hordes encouraged by democratic leaders.
The other thing that that’s been going through the roof is violent crime in cities, destroyed by scumbags and run by these same democrats. The last thing the liberal media wants you to think is that democratic mayors and governors allowing the rioting and looting to happen is in any way related to the rise in violent crime so the WaPo was all over it with this piece of crap:

Not only is the WaPo full of shit, they have a shitty business model and put all of their content behind a paywall I’m unwilling to pay for.
It doesn’t really matter if I can read this garbage article or not because the headline is so clearly false. I don’t need to cut and paste some ridiculous quotes from this to prove it’s 100% fake news.
The rise in gun ownership in this country is because millions of Americans have recently legally purchased firearms. There hasn’t been one story of a legal gun owner committing an act of violence in the liberal cities under siege from Black Lives Matter. In order for there to be a link between the rise in gun purchases and the spike in violent crime, at least some recently purchased guns have to have been used in recent violent crimes. It’s that simple.
It wasn’t legal gun owners killing black children over 4th of July weekend. It wasn’t people who passed a background checks painting the streets of Chicago red with blood. Legal gun ownership isn’t even allowed in NYC, so it’s impossible to legitimately connect gun sales to the city’s terrifying spike in violent crime.
Besides that rise in legal guns sales, there are a few other things that could explain all of this new violence. There have been riots raging in these cities for almost two months. The liberals running these cities have not only encouraged this rioting but also forbidden their police departments from restoring order.
A complete lack of law order is something a reasonable person would connect with a spike in violent crime. The WaPo on the other hand thinks it’s because law-abiding people legally purchased firearms and that’s why they are fake news and the enemy of the American people.
