Tuesday Morning Breakfast For The Brain

Good morning Deplorables, it’s now four weeks until the most important election ever.

A Man vs. A Movement

Via American Greatness

Trump versus Biden is the choice between a man who believes America is good and a man who is controlled by a movement that believes America is bad.

do not think the Republican leaders are framing the election properly.

Nor are they doing a good job describing what’s at stake in this election.

This election is a contest between a man, Donald Trump, who believes America is good, and a man, Joe Biden, who is controlled by a movement that believes America is bad. Or to put this another way, between a man who wants to preserve the American way of life and a man who will end up destroying it.

Republican leaders are too focused on policy. This is not a policy election. This is a regime decision; a way of life election. One way of life, the traditional American way of life, is based on individual rights, rule of law, and a shared understanding of the common good. Government’s role is to create the conditions for freedom to flourish.

The other way of life I call “multiculturalism” or “identity politics.” This way of life assumes that society is made up of identity groups, all of which are oppressed by white males. Government’s role in this regime is to create equal income and power for each group.

As should be immediately apparent, achieving this kind of “outcome equality” requires a never-ending redistribution of wealth and power. This can only be achieved by a tyrannical form of government. This is to say, multiculturalism, which has taken over the Democratic Party, constitutes a revolutionary movement. I do not mean a metaphorical revolution. It is not like a revolution; it is a revolution, an attempt to overthrow the American Founding as President Trump said in his excellent Mt. Rushmore speech. Republicans should say the same thing. Republicans everywhere, at every level and at every opportunity.

In order to defend the American way of life, Republicans must disabuse the public of the notion that Black Lives Matter cares about black lives. To BLM, Republicans might say something like: “absolutely, black lives matter. They just don’t matter to you. You don’t care about Mr. Floyd, the black businesses you have destroyed, or the blacks who are getting killed because you have forced the police to back off. These blacks are just abstractions to you. Their tragedies are just a prop for your agenda. You’re here for destruction. Not black lives, not any lives.”

And then Republicans must explain how the revolution works. Specifically, they must explain that the revolution is being led, not by Black Lives Matter, but by the left-wing of the Democratic Party which has used the BLM riots to move farther and faster than it otherwise could have moved. The left-wing, let’s call it the “BLM wing,” has taken over the entire party. Most Democrats, though not themselves revolutionaries, go along. Joe Biden is one of the “go-along BLM-Democrats.”

Their policy agenda is clear: reparations, socialism, endless affirmative action, open borders, confiscation of guns, and so forth.

But the revolution goes deeper. BLM-Democrats understand that if they are to achieve their policy agenda then they must get us to change our values and principles and the way we understand ourselves. They must get us to believe that national borders and colorblindness are racist; that we are not one culture but many; and that the most important thing in our history—the thing around which all else pivots—is slavery. More extensively, they must get us to believe that we are unworthy—not just that we have sinned (which of course we have)—but that we are irredeemably sinful, or, in the language of today, “systemically racist.” And sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic etc. to boot. The BLM-Democrats (quite reasonably) assume that once Americans accept their guilt they will accept the BLM-Democratic policy agenda.

Republicans cannot let that happen.

Officer In Grand Jury Testimony: Breonna Taylor’s Boyfriend Initially Said Taylor Shot At Officers

Via The Daily Wire

According to released grand jury testimony, it was Breonna Taylor who shot at police officers during a March 13 raid on her apartment, boyfriend Kenneth Walker allegedly told police before changing his story.

Former Officer Brett Hankison told investigators during an interview heard by the grand jury that Walker “had told him ‘she was the one who shot at us,’” the Daily Mail reported Friday. “Walker later said that he was the one who opened fire.”

As noted by the outlet, “One of Taylor’s neighbors also told investigators that police had told her that ‘some drug-dealing girl shot an officer.’”

Kentucky’s Republican Attorney General Daniel Cameron agreed earlier this week to release recordings from the grand jury proceedings in the Taylor case after a former juror complained that “certain questions were left unanswered” and suggested that information presented to the grand jury was different from what Cameron presented to the public, reported The Daily Wire.

The released audio also reportedly indicated that officers said they knocked and announced themselves for up to one-to-two minutes before breaking down the door of the apartment.

“We knocked on the door, said ‘police,’ waited, I don’t know 10 or 15 seconds. Knocked again, said ‘police,’ waited even longer,” said Lt. Shawn Hoover in a recording from the day of the raid, the Daily Mail reported.

“So it was the third time that we were approaching, it had been like 45 seconds if not a minute,” said Lt. Shawn Hoover. “And then I said, ‘Let’s go, let’s breach it.’”

According to detective Michael Nobles, “officers made so much noise that an upstairs neighbor came outside and had to be told to go back inside,” the report noted.

Taylor was fatally shot during the raid after plainclothes officers returned fire. Walker, who had a legally registered gun, says he fired at the officers not knowing who was at the door, believing they might be “intruders.”

Hoover claimed during testimony that he believed the officers were “ambushed” by the pair.

“We were, in my opinion, we were ambushed,” he said. “They knew we were there. I mean, hell, the neighbors knew we were there.”

Intel Sources: CIA Director Gina Haspel Banking On Trump Loss To Keep Russiagate Documents Hidden

Via The Federalist

Haspel is hoping Trump loses his re-election bid so she can run out the clock on Russiagate document declassifications, multiple intelligence community officials told The Federalist.

Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director Gina Haspel is personally blocking the declassification and release of key Russiagate documents in the hopes that President Donald Trump will lose his re-election bid, multiple senior U.S. officials told The Federalist. The officials said Haspel, who served under former CIA Director John Brennan as the spy agency’s station chief in London in 2016 and 2017, is concerned that the declassification and release of documents detailing what the CIA was doing during the 2016 election and the 2017 transition could embarrass the CIA and potentially even implicate Haspel herself.

“Haspel and [FBI Director Christopher] Wray both want Trump to lose, because it’s the only chance they have of keeping their jobs,” one senior intelligence official told The Federalist. “They’re banking on Biden winning and keeping them where they are.”

The Federalist first reported last week that Haspel had emerged as the primary roadblock to declassification of materials showing that the U.S. intelligence community knew prior to the 2016 election that the allegations that Trump colluded with Russia were themselves the products of Russian disinformation. Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe released a declassified summary last week that disclosed that Russian intelligence officials were aware that former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton had planned to smear Trump as a treasonous Russian asset to distract from the Clinton’s e-mail scandal. As part of her operation, Clinton hired a foreign agent who was himself working for a sanctioned Russian oligarch to spread unverified smears against Trump. One of the key sources of collusion allegations peddled by that foreign agent via the now-infamous Steele dossier was suspected by FBI authorities of being a Russian spy.

“It’s far more important for Haspel to block any embarrassment of herself or her agency than to have full transparency and accountability,” another senior intelligence official told The Federalist. “She’s just hoping she can get past the election so the documents will never come out.”

“This is not a source protection issue, it’s an embarrassment issue,” the intelligence official added.

Report: Teacher Asks Class Which Person They Most Admire. 10-Year-Old Replies Donald J. Trump. Teacher Kicks Him Out Of Chatroom

Via The Daily Wire

On Friday, after the diagnosis of President Trump’s coronavirus had been made public, a 10-year-old student in Tacoma, Washington, made the mistake in a remote class of answering his teacher’s question asking which person he most admired.

He answered “Donald J. Trump.”

Brendan Stanton, a middle school teacher at P.G. Keithley Middle School in Tacoma, reportedly asked his students to reply in the online chatroom to the question, “Who is the one person you admire and why?” Elsy Kusander’s son replied:

I admire Donald J. Trump because he is making America great again. And because he is the best president the United States of America could ever, ever have. And he built the wall so terrorists couldn’t come into in the U. S. Trump is the best person in the world. And that’s why I had admire him.

Jason Rantz of My Northwest reported of the teacher, “Stanton almost immediately kicked the student out of the chatroom, deleted the chat, and proceeded to attack the president, while calling out the student for mentioning him.”

Elsy Kusander overheard Stanton, prompting her to film the comments on her cell phone, Rantz reported. Stanton stated, “The example that was shared in the chat, which I went ahead and erased for us, was not appropriate right? Especially as that individual has created so much division and hatred between people and specifically spoken hatred to many different individuals, ok? … Again, that individual has spoken hate to many individuals and I don’t think is an appropriate example for a role model that we should be admiring.”

Kusander told Rantz, “I went into my son’s room and I heard the teacher saying that this individual is hateful and divisive, etc. I started to record. How can a teacher be teaching to his students horrible things about the president of the country without facts?”

Kusander contacted Stanton later in that afternoon after the incident, informing him she was recording the call.

Trump Adds ‘Black Lives Matter’ Sticker To SUV So Media Can’t Claim He’s Spreading COVID

Via The Babylon Bee (Satire)

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In what’s being hailed as a 14-dimensional Go move, President Trump added a Black Lives Matter decal to his SUV so he can take as many trips outside the hospital as he wants, and the media won’t be able to claim he’s spreading COVID.

“Checkmate,” Trump said as he smiled and waved to reporters. “This is fantastic. Now, if I want to go grab a milkshake from the McDonald’s drive-thru — bam, Black Lives Matter sticker. Can’t touch me. Can’t criticize me. It’s beautiful. Tremendous, really.”

With his newfound freedom, Trump instructed his motorcade to drive around the city. The president waved at supporters — referred to as “peaceful protesters” — and stopped at the drive-in to catch Tenet. He even shared a bucket of popcorn with Secret Service agents, and not a single reporter was able to claim he was spreading the virus, thanks to his handy decal.

“Well, that was a bust,” Trump said as his Chevy Suburban pulled out of the movie theater to take him back to the hospital. “That didn’t make any sense at all. Did I need to understand Interstellar to make heads or tails of that? What a terrible movie. We should have seen Trolls.”
