The Left’s Closing Argument to America: Shut Up and Obey

This election may be our last chance to save what’s left of the country our Founders left us. Let’s make it count.

Election Day is almost here, and the time has come for closing arguments. For the Left, four years of agitation have culminated in this proposal: join the revolution, or we’ll destroy you.

You have to admire the simplicity of it.

Understand, removing Trump from power is only the first step on the road to true democracy. His presidency must also go down as a cancerous aberration never to be repeated, and he and his supporters must be consigned to the outer darkness, forever.

We have seen this peculiar pitch crystallize as the ruling class works desperately to crush Trump and crown Biden’s running mate, Senator Kamala Harris (D-Calif.). It was obvious from the start that Biden’s campaign was little more than a front for the establishment and that its success, if ever it came, would be a sleight of hand. We have now seen that effort reach its logical conclusion in a parade of open contempt for ordinary Americans and our most basic principles and institutions.

We have watched a presidential candidate lie to the people, with the help of the press, about an imaginary “white supremacist” threat and “mostly peaceful” riots. We have seen him tell Americans that we do not “deserve” to know whether he will pack the Supreme Court. And most alarmingly of all, we have seen “the news” and Big Tech engage in mass political censorship to help him win.

What would people like this do to America? It doesn’t take much imagination to get the general idea.

Under their rule, the things we find controversial today no longer would be controversial. All of “the science” would be settled—by them. There would be a short menu of policies and opinions, catered by activists and “experts,” that everyone would follow on pain of persecution. Everyone would accept that America is “racist” and support whatever redress that may require.

Moreover, anyone arbitrarily declared a spreader of “misinformation” or “hate speech” would be punished, and that would be that. Those targeted would be compelled to grovel, and the liberal mob would cheer their humiliation. We’ve already seen plenty of this, with a spring of lockdowns, a summer of “antiracism,” and the readiness with which seemingly moderate people went along with all of it. Most liberals still trust the media, and they won’t hesitate to have Big Tech do their dirty work for them in the name of “property rights.”

Yes, they will pack the Supreme Court, too, as they were always going to do the moment they lost control. None of this will be hard for them to justify, in fact they’ll do it all gladly. They’re on the right side of History, after all. They’re the good guys.

But there are still too many bad guys around, too many “QAnon cultists,” too many conspiracy theorists who don’t believe in science, too many who refuse to apologize for the way they were born. These people—unfortunately, as they see it—have a say in our system. What to do?

Well, why not just blow the whole thing up? All of that hokey rhetoric about the “consent of the governed” and “free speech,” do we really need that? The Constitution is getting to be pretty old by now. Weren’t the framers a bunch of racists anyway?

It’s not enough to enforce a revolutionary ideology from above, however. It’s much more poetic to create an entirely new people—a people more fit to inherit this better, more democratic America.

Leftist Group Plans to “Shut Down D.C.” to Stop Trump From Being Declared Winner

It’s no longer merely a “conspiracy theory” if the conspirators are telling the world in broad daylight what they plan to do.

An activist group called “Shut Down D.C.” is preparing to launch mass gatherings in the nation’s capital beginning the night of the election in an attempt to stop what it claims will be an “attempted coup” by President Trump and a refusal from him to accept the results of the election.

According to Shut Down D.C., the “resistance” must begin amid the “muddied” legal and political debate over the election’s outcome.

“Trump will not leave office without mass mobilization and direct action,” the group says on its website.

In a separate document first reported by The Federalist, the group refers to its initiative as an “uprising” and calls for potentially blockading the White House, blocking traffic, shutting down government office buildings, and even cutting off Amazon fulfillment centers.

Per a meeting registration document, Shut Down D.C. held a training session to help participants react to different hypothetical scenarios, including a so-called timeline to a meltdown simulation.

The event description stated: “Each team will work to develop action plans to respond to the scenario, anticipate how other movement actors will respond, and build capacity for collective action to build the world we want to live in.”

Presumably, the training is to facilitate mass protests and civil unrest planned for the days subsequent to Election Night.

According to Shut Down D.C., From November 4 to November 7, organized activities will include hitting the streets daily to “respond to rapidly changing events.”

“We may be waiting for votes to be counted or we may be responding to major attacks on democracy,” the group states. “Over the next few weeks we’ll use our Spokes Council process to plan actions that are flexible and can scale to respond to a lot of different scenarios.”

Then, from November 8 to November 11, Shut Down D.C. will be prepared for Congress members to return to Capitol Hill. At that time, the leftists will potentially meet them at train stations, airports, or even their homes.

“If Trump is trying to launch a coup, that’s no time for business as usual,” the website explains. “And if Trump has already conceded, then we can pivot and use these actions to demand COVID-19 relief and other essential legislation!”

Rural California is divided, armed for revolt. What’s the matter in the State of Jefferson?

Carlos Zapata has a message for any government official who shows up at his Tehama County restaurant and tries to enforce California’s pandemic shutdown orders.

“I’ve made it very clear that if they come to shut us down, I’m going to call 100,000 people that’ll be there with guns, and what happens happens, you know?” Zapata said Tuesday. “I’m hoping that they’re not stupid enough to want that kind of a fight over a restaurant being open, but if they want it, we’ll definitely give it to them.”

It’s not the first time the Red Bluff restaurant owner and U.S. Marine combat veteran has made those kinds of threats. A few weeks ago, he told the Shasta County Board of Supervisors to expect trouble if they enforce Gov. Gavin Newsom’s COVID-19 restrictions on local businesses.

“Right now, we’re being peaceful,” he said in a short speech that has since made Zapata a celebrity among far-right groups. “But it’s not going to be peaceful much longer.”

Just about anywhere else in California, that sort of talk would have been widely condemned. But here, in what’s arguably the capital of the State of Jefferson — a decades-old movement to break off conservative northern counties from Democrat-controlled California — many have shrugged Zapata off as commonplace.

In Jefferson, the sweeping pandemic edicts out of Sacramento are the latest in a long line of grievances about California’s liberal policies, from new gas taxes, to minimum wage hikes, to environmental restrictions, to gun control.

Indeed, the rebellious sentiment behind Zapata’s threats briefly carried its way to Shasta County’s elected leaders who considered this week rebelling against California on their own.

Despite having one of the highest per-capita rates of COVID-19 infections in the state, the Shasta County Board of Supervisors spent the last several weeks hearing calls to ignore state public health orders that would force restaurants, gyms and other small businesses to stop serving customers indoors.

At board meetings, business owners spoke at times through tears at the prospect of closing their shops permanently if the shutdowns continued. Dozens of others also brought up every manner of internet-driven conspiracy theory about the pandemic — vaccines are a health hazard, masks are a form of government control, the pandemic is a hoax to sway the election against Donald Trump, who won State of Jefferson counties by margins of up to 72% in 2016.

At one point, an anti-mask activist in a Grim Reaper mask stood at the microphone and tried to set a face mask on fire. A man announced he was placing the entire board under citizen’s arrest. Activists read out the county health officer’s home address, prompting police to step up patrols in her neighborhood.

As the country approaches a contentious election and the coronavirus shutdowns continue to hamstring the economy, the State of Jefferson may seem primed to explode.

But how much of this revolutionary talk needs to be taken seriously? How much is over-hyped by outsiders? And how much of it just comes with the territory? This is a place that has long resented its stepchild status in California’s strongly Democratic household — a place where grousing about Big Government is as fundamental as buying a new gun or putting a campaign sign for a local Republican on your lawn?

‘People Will Die’ if They Spend Christmas Together, Says Disgraced Fmr UK Govt Scientist

The disgraced former British government scientist who was forced to leave his post after breaking his own lockdown rules has said that “people will die” if social distancing regulations are suspended, and families are allowed to spend Christmas day together.

With all parts of the United Kingdom under some form of social distancing rules which limits gatherings, media has reported that the public fears not being able to spend time with loved ones this Christmas.

Asked on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme on Saturday what would be the consequences of relaxing social distancing rules on December 25th, epidemiologist Professor Neil Ferguson said: “It risks some transmission, and there will be consequences of that.

“Some people will die because of getting infected on that day. But if it’s only one or two days, the impact is likely to be limited. So that is really a political judgement about the cost versus the benefits.”

Professor Ferguson, of Imperial College London, formerly consulted for the Conservative government on its coronavirus strategy and his modelling was instrumental in the design of the United Kingdom’s March coronavirus lockdown. He resigned his role as senior scientific advisor to the government in May after he was caught twice allowing his married lover to come to his home despite her being in quarantine with her family, breaking the professor’s own lockdown rules.

While British police were overzealously investigating the average Briton for perceived infringement of lockdown laws, London’s Metropolitan Police Service said it would not be charging the epidemiologist, only saying that it saw the incident as “disappointing”.

Newly Mustachioed Bill De Blasio Unveils Special Red Armbands For Police Enforcing Lockdown

NEW YORK, NY—Having let his facial hair grow freely for several weeks, New York Mayor Bill De Blasio held a press conference this morning where he unveiled special red armbands for police enforcing the city’s quarantine on the Jewish community.

“The red armband represents our commitment to public health,” he said. “City workers and police who want to show their loyalty to making sure undesirable groups are not breaking quarantine will be asked to wear the bands for easy identification.”

“The third glorious era of New York will reign triumphant!” he cried, banging on his lectern. “Together we can reclaim the glories of our once-great kingdom!”

The mayor also suggesting some kind of camp that could concentrate on the Jews, as well as maybe some way to identify them in public so people could keep away from “undesirable” contact with them. “We could take them to the camp on the subway trains.”

Some are saying the move represents bad optics for the city’s mayor. But he didn’t seem to see any issue with the bands, saying they simply helped identify the special squadrons of police that would focus on the Jewish community. “We’ll call them the S.S. for short,” he said.

He also announced his plans to invade Poland.
