California is run by far-out leftist whackos who have ruined the state and they were put in office by California voters. A wreird thing happened in this election however that calls into question California’s reputation for being a liberal hellhole. There were tons of far-out whacko leftist ballot measures and California rejected them all. Though they vote for liberal politicians, they vote for ballot measures with conservative principals and values. Luckily Californians still have a reputation for being stupid.
California went big time for Joe Biden in 2020, just like they did for Hillary and Obama and every democrat who has run for president in the past few decades. Democrats Kamala Harris and Dianne Feinstein are the state’s Senators. The California Reps include lefty lunatics like Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Maxine Waters, and Eric “Duke Nukem” Swalwell. The state legislature has a democrat super-majority and the governor is beta male dictator Gavin Newsom.
California loves them some liberal lunatics to run the show. There were several ballot initiatives that should have appealed to liberal lunatic lovers and yet, Californians voted like they were conservative:
Prop 15 would have slapped a huge property tax burden on small business owners, forcing them to close. Californians slapped back and defeated this liberal tax increase.
Prop 16 would have reinstated affirmative action, allowing schools and business to accept and hire people based on there race (whites excluded). Amazingly enough Californians rejected this liberal race-hustling scheme overwhelmingly.
Prop 18 would have lowered the voting age to 17, which is something democrats across the country are pushing. Californians recognized how stupid this is and shot it down.
Prop 19 gives tax relief to senior citizens and victims of wildfires and we all know how liberals feel about lowering taxes. Californians however thought it was a good idea and approved it.
Prop 20 was a mess of a measure that would have, among other things, reclassified violent felonies as misdemeanors and allowed police to collect DNA samples for certain misdemeanor crimes. I don’t honestly believe anyone in the state understood what the point of the measure was, but they rejected it based on the soft-on-crime and government intrusion aspects.
Prop 21 would have mandated rent control in the state which would have screwed everyone from renters to landlords. Californians felt like the free market should set prices and voted down this socialist measure.
Prop 22 repealed a stupid law that forced independent contractors to be treated like full-time employees. This law would have put tens of thousands of Californians out of work and was heavily backed by the labor unions. Californians repealed the law saying people should be allowed to work.
Prop 23 would have put so many regulations on kidney dialysis clinics that they would be forced to close. This too was heavily backed by the unions because clinics are right-to-work places. Californians rejected this because people shouldn’t have to die so unions can gain more control.
Prop 24 protects people’s privacy from government and companies. Liberals hate personal privacy but Californians like it so they approved this one.
Prop 25 would have replaced cash bail with the honor system for violent criminals and scumbags alike. This is part of Black Lives Matter’s “defund the police” justice reform package. Californians decided they’d feel safer if the streets weren’t filled with killers and rapists, so they killed this measure with extreme prejudice.
Those measures represented tax hikes, government intrusion, unnecessary regulation, union control, racial grievances, and nanny state garbage, which are the foundation of the democratic party and liberalism in general. California said “hell no!” to all of that nonsense. This is like if red state Alabama voted for taxpayer funded abortions and an AR-15 ban.
I live in California and am a registered Republican. My conservative beliefs are why I voted for or against all of the above measures. I voted exactly the way they turned out. Most Californians also voted the way I did, which would suggest they also have conservative values and use conservative principals when voting on important matters.
And yet, over 8 million Californians also just voted for Joe Biden. They put all of the liberal lunatics in Congress and the state house as well. Why do Californians vote for communists when the overwhelming majority of them are conservative whether they know it or not?
The only thing I can come up with is, there are an awful lot of stupid people in this state.
