Heading into the 2020 election Nancy Pelosi guaranteed that democrats were going to increase their House majority but Republicans flipped a number of seats red. Though this was an embarrassment, the democrats will maintain a majority in the House, even if it’s razor-thin. Speaking of embarrassments, nitwit NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez thinks democrats lost their majority. Nobody tell her just so we can see her start referring to Republican Kevin McCarthy as the House Speaker.
AOC held a rousing virtual town hall recently to show her constituents what they voted for to represent them. She didn’t disappoint:
AOC was asked about the democrat loses in the House
“I have a general question about the House and why did we lose so many seats and what needs to be done to get them back?” asked a constituent.
“So, you know, of course, the loss of the House majority is just extraordinarily upsetting to all of us. It’s upsetting to all of us who are invested in having a Democratic majority so that we can expand health care, so that we can raise wages, so that we can protect working people. And it’s also personally very difficult,” replied Ocasio Cortez.
Big deal, what isn’t personally difficult for AOC? We know math is, for sure.
There are still a few House races that haven’t been called, but the democrats do have at least 219 seats, which is the exact number they need to have a one-seat majority.
AOC never realized she made a mistake as she went on to mourn the loss of a democratic majority.
“Because to lose these people, you know, many of them are my colleagues, and I’m proud to call many of them my friends, and the idea that they may not be returning next term, or that they aren’t returning next term, is extremely difficult on both just a personal and a policy and a political level,” she said.
And she really didn’t realize her mistake. At the end of this town hall reporters were allowed to ask question and one of them made reference to the previous constituent question about democrats losing seats. She did not correct herself at all.
In AOC’s defense, maybe she thinks the “House majority” is a frisbee with the House democratic caucus logo on it and this is her way of admitting she accidentally threw it up on the Capitol dome. Hence: they lost the House majority. Either that or she simply doesn’t understand that “majority” means “more.”
AOC wasn’t quite done demonstrating her vast knowledge of all things as another constituent asked her what “Defund the Police” means.
“I think it means to me that the path towards justice is a long arc and that it happens in steps and I believe that this call for me personally is a step to build a world where we are safe,” Ocasio Cortez said.
Wait till you hear how AOC defines safety:
“Safety is not just an officer with a badge and a gun but safety is also a mental health worker that shows up when you are in crisis. Safety is making sure that you are not evicted from your apartment in the middle of a pandemic. Safety is making sure that when you go to school you have all the resources you need,” she said.
So safety is socialism without cops?
Much like her inability to note any places where socialism has been successful, AOC also couldn’t name any places that were safer because they had no police.
AOC is dumb, but the people of her discthic are dumber because they have now put her into office twice. Her views on defunding the police, safety, and the non-existent Republican majority in the House are just the latest examples of her mind-numbing idiocy.
But hey, if the liberal media gets to declare who the President of the United States is, maybe a dipshit bartender from the Bronx can give Republicans a majority in the House. We’ll take it.
