Democrats love the Constitution when it protects things like burning the flag and killing babies, but most of the time they hate it because it blocks their agenda. They hate it when it doesn’t force nuns to pay for abortions, they hate it when it stops them from taking our guns, and they hate it when it keeps them from controlling people’s lives. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, an honorary democrat, says there is no Constitutional right to resist his mask mandate. He is wrong and will hate the reality of his wrongness.
Maryland Governor Larry Hogan technically has an “R” after his name but he’s an anti-Trump governor of a blue sate and acts like a total D-bag so in practice he is a democrat. Here’s WBAL reporting that he’s planning on cracking down on Marylanders who dare defy his coronavirus orders to celebrate Thanksgiving:
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan announced additional statewide enforcement measures to fight the COVID-19 surge.
The governor announced new statewide enforcement efforts that, in addition to traditional efforts ramping up drunken driving patrols ahead of Thanksgiving, the state is launching an all-hands-on-deck compliance, education and enforcement operation to involve the Maryland State Police.
The MDSP is expanding its COVID-19 Compliance and Coordination Center and deploying “High Visibility Compliance Units” across the state, Hogan said. Additional troopers will be assigned in every county to work in partnership with locals to investigate any reports of violations of state law.
“These rules are in place to save lives. If you are found violating them, you will be held accountable. We will not allow reckless behavior to continue without consequences,” said Hogan representative Johnny Olszewski.
“Compliance Units” don’t sound like something that would exist in a free society. In fact, they sound like something a dictator would deploy to crush all dissent.
Speaking of which, in the presser to announce that the people have no freedom, Hogan dropped this when asked if the state had the authority to enforce mask wearing:
“It’s sort of like saying, ‘I have a Constitutional right to drive drunk, I have a Constitutional right to not wear a seatbelt,’ or yell ‘fire’ in a crowded movie theater, or to not follow the speed limit,” said Hogan.
The Constitution doesn’t ban people from yelling “fire” in a theater and driving is a privilege not a right. Walking around however is right but Hogan doesn’t thinks so:
“Which part don’t you understand? You wear the mask. There is no Constitutional right to walk around without a mask,” Hogan said.
I guess the part I don’t understand is where the Constitution says the government can force people to wear fashion accessories. I looked for it and it’s not there. I did find some other stuff however that proves Hogan is wrong about there being no Constitutional right to walk around without a mask.
The 1st Amendment guarantees freedom of expression.
The 4th Amendment guarantees the right of the people to be secure in their persons.
The 5th Amendment guarantees due process.
The 8th Amendment bans cruel and unusual punishment.
The 13th Amendment bans involuntary servitude.
The 14th Amendment guarantees equal protection under the law.
Any one of these proves that the government can’t force people to wear masks but especially the equal protection clause. Since democrat lawmakers and executives, who impose the coronavirus lockdowns and mandates, don’t follow their own rules, they can’t apply those rules to the people. The law applies equally or it is unconstitutional. Period.
And with that, Larry Hogan becomes an official democrat because no Republican hates on the Constitution like that.
