Sheila Jackson Lee’s Gun Control Bill Means You’ll Be Paying For The Right To Lose Your Guns

Now that democrats have successfully stolen the White House and effective control of the Senate they feel like it’s also a good time to steal your 2nd Amendment Rights. Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee has introduced a gun control bill that will cost you plenty to keep your guns but eventually you’ll loose them anyways because there’s an awful lot of restrictions and it encourages criminals to steal your firearms.

Sheila Jackson Lee introduced H.R. 127 – The Sabika Sheikh Firearm Licensing and Registration Act. If you are wondering who the hell Sabika Sheikh is, he was some Pakistani student who was kill in a shooting.

In this piece of shit bill, the US Attorney General is to establish a national gun registry, that requires everyone to register their firearms with the federal government. This includes guns you’ve owned for decades. Failure to do so is a felony.

Under this registry, everyone must give the federal governemnet the following information: “the make, model, and serial number of the firearm, the identity of the owner of the firearm, the date the firearm was acquired by the owner, and where the firearm is or will be stored.”

Then there’s this fun fact: “The Attorney General shall make the contents of the database accessible to all members of the public, all Federal, State, and local law enforcement authorities, all branches of the United States Armed Forces, and all State and local governments.”

So the general public can access the gun registry database and see what guns you own and where they are stored? What could possibly go wrong? It’s not like criminals will use this database to find where guns are and take them or anything.

You must also apply for a license to own guns, including the ones you’ve had for decades. To get this license you must plop down $800, be over 21-years-old, pass a background check, pass a psychological exam, which includes a psychological examine of everyone else in your house, and get 24 hours of training. It’s unclear if the $800 covers the psyche exam and the training, but I’m guessing it does not and that will be more money out of our pockets.

Weirdly, this bill doesn’t have an assault weapons ban, but it does require an additional license to own a semi-automatic weapon with a detachable magazine. You must jump through all of the hoops for the gun license again and of course pay another $800 to get a “Military-Style Weapons License.”

Oh, and to keep your guns, you also have to get “gun owner’s insurance.” The cost of this is not explained in the bill, but I’m sure it’s not free.

As if this didn’t already suck enough, here comes the restrictions. All of the current banned individuals still apply but there’s a whole new slew of people who can own firearms: “mental illness, disturbance, or diagnosis (including depression, homicidal ideation, suicidal ideation, attempted suicide, or addiction to a controlled substance or alcohol), or a brain disease (including dementia or Alzheimer’s).”

Welp, Joe Biden’s out. Actually so are a lot of people. Millions of Americans have been depressed or addicted to drugs or alcohol and are of absolute no danger to themselves or anyone else. I suspect if the government knew how much beer I drink, they’d label me an alcoholic and take my guns away.

As it turns out, they threw in a vague clause that will allow the government to confiscate weapons from anyone for no reason. A person can lose their gun ownership rights if, “on account of conduct that endangers self or others.”

Have you noticed lately that democrats are trying to portray Republicans, conservatives, and Trump supports as dangerous? Do you think it’s a coincidence that democrats also introduced a gun control bill that would allow them to disarm anyone they decide is dangerous?

Democrats have a slim majority in the House, the White House and a 50/50 spilt in the Senate. They would need at least 10 Republican Senators to vote for this unconstitutional piece of crap to pass it, but they are working on ways around that by changing the rules. Now we have to trust the conservative members of the Supremacy Court really are conservative because otherwise our 2nd Amendment rights are going bye-bye.
