There are 2 kinds of hate crimes in this country: 1) The kind that democrats and the liberal media hype, that turn out to be hoaxes and 2) the kind that democrats and the liberal media ignore because the victim is white. This is the first kind. A Sheriff’s Deputy, of Indian descent, in California was arrested for faking a hate crime against himself with a staged ambush shooting. There will be no further mention of this on any of the liberal media outlets.

A Santa Clara County sheriff’s deputy who was shot and injured in an ambush on Friday night in unincorporated Morgan Hill may have been saved when a bullet struck the body camera he was wearing, authorities said.
Deputy Sukhdeep Gill was patrolling Friday night in the sheriff’s office’s jurisdiction on Uvas Road when he was ambushed by someone in an approaching car at 10:32 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.
As the unidentified vehicle approached — a silver 2000’s sedan, possibly a Honda — with its lights switched off. One or more suspects fired at least four shots at Gill, who was outside his vehicle at the time.
The deputy was hit once when the bullet reportedly struck his body camera and body armor around the center of his body.
He suffered an injury that is not life-threatening and is recovering at home, according to the sheriff’s office. The suspect or suspects fled and remain at large.
“It’s a very rural country road, very windy, and so it’s very haphazard to turn off your lights for anything other than what we believe was this unprovoked sneak attack,” Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Lt. Brendan Omori said.
Not only was this an “unprovoked sneak attack” it may have even been a hate crime:
Gill, who has been with the sheriff’s office since 2015, is said to be a practicing Sikh who wears a traditional headdress. The sheriff’s office said it is unclear if the motive of the shooting was a hate crime or a crime of opportunity against law enforcement.
But as The SFist reports, they did view this as a hate crime:

Then, like it was a big surprise that someone whose name is pretty much “Suck Deep” would be full of shit, Fox News reports the entire thing was a hoax:
A sheriff’s deputy in Northern California was arrested and charged Friday for allegedly faking an ambush attack a year ago while on duty, authorities said.
Santa Clara County Deputy Sukhdeep Gill, 27, claimed in a panicked radio call that he had been shot while on patrol on Jan. 31, 2020, shouting “Shots fired! Shots fired!” over an emergency channel…
He told officers he had been ambushed by a passing car when he stopped his vehicle on the side of the road and the bullet struck his body camera. His police vehicle had also been shot by three bullets and he claimed he had fired back at the car as it sped away…
Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen didn’t specify what parts of Gill’s story were fake but said ballistics and other evidence revealed inconsistencies. Investigators also noted Gill wasn’t wounded in the shooting while the single bullet pierced his body camera.
“Deputy Gill’s actions abused the trust of his fellow officers and diverted public safety resources away from protecting the community to investigate a made-up crime,” said Rosen.
It seems pretty clear to me what the bullshit part of his story is: all of it. He shot his body camera and then pumped 3 more shots into his patrol vehicle, claiming he was ambushed because of his religion and/or ethnicity. And he did this because as a Sheriff’s deputy, he had no idea that crime scene investigators recover forensic evidence when this type of thing happens. What a dope.
This may be the last of the Trump-era hate crime hoaxes and now the professional victims will have to come up with a new line of shit when faking hate crimes. This is one of the many reasons why liberals secretly regret stealing the 2020 election. They need Trump way more than they thought.
