The National Guard In D.C.–More Word On How Long They Might Stay–And It’s Starting to Get Crazy

Now that the impeachment trial is over, what’s the next excuse for having the National Guard stay in Washington, D.C.? Can there still be a rational excuse for their continuing deployment?

The National Guard leave D.C.? Not so fast. There seems to be additional need for boots on the ground. But what is it?

Now there’s more talk and you’re not going to believe it. The Guard might stay until the fall. Wait, what?

Major Matt Murphy said the current plan is to have the 6,000 who are presently on hand stay until March. But apparently they are in talks about being there longer.

Assistant Secretary for Homeland Defense, Robert Salesses, as reported by Nick Arama on RedState, wrote in an email about an “extended timeline” to the Capitol Police and National Security Council.

“If it’s not possible to sustain at the current level with [National Guard] personnel, we need to establish the number of NG personnel (DCNG and out-of-state) we can sustain for an extended period — at least through Fall 2021,” Salesses wrote in a January 20 email.

He added that officials should consider “additional options for providing [Department of Defense] support, to include use of reserve personnel, as well as active component.”

Democrats were always accusing President Donald Trump of being a fascist (without reason or evidence, just spin), but talk about a truly fascistic look for old confused Joe. Add that to his rule by executive order and it sure looks like he’s aiming for the dictator award.

They really are turning us into a banana republic in every way you can imagine. Notice that says “at least to the fall.” Then in the fall, it will just turn into a permanent fixture or another reason to keep them there. Welcome the permanent security state, complete with barbwire fencing to keep us from the halls of government. Will they be there until the next election when Joe Biden loses? What then?

This all must be justified and quickly before another penny is spent. The public needs to know what the reasoning is behind all this. And those formulating the answers must keep them within the parameters of truth. Full disclosure, right?

Any governors who still have National Guard in D.C., and Republicans members of Congress as well, should be screaming bloody murder about this. They should be demanding the rationale for this.

What say you Def-Con News readers?  Bad optics here, right? And a nightmare for the citizens of D.C.–traffic blockades and an incredible financial burden.
